Ohana and wishes

I have a reservation for Ohana on our arrival day at 8:00 pm. I was wondering if people who have been there think I will have enough time to eat there and then had to BLT to watch wishes from TOTWL. I have heard people say that they are generally running late for there seating times. I know wishes is at 10 and that is 2 hours but will I be cutting it too close. This reservation is not a must have from me so going elsewhere will not be a big deal.

I don't think you'll make it but you can see wishes from some of the tables in ohana. So you could tell the hostess that you are willing to wait for a table near the windows

I doubt it. I think that you need to decide if you want 'Ohana or Wishes and go with that. The odds of being allowed to wait for a window table are slim. Most TS restaurants do not allow that option any more because two hours before the fireworks display no one would take an inside seat. 'Ohana is notorious for running late, so for an 8 PM ADR you may not get seated until 8:30 unless you are lucky.

If I was planning, and I wanted Wishes, I would book Narcoossees and eat there, and watch WIshes from the porch. If I wanted 'Ohana I would take my chances, enjoy my meal and if the moon, the sun, and all the planets aligned so I was out and on my way by 9:30, I would consider myself lucky and head over to tBLT to see the show.

Plus, Ohana has a handful of tables with Wishes views. Literally, less than 5.

I think I am going to just skip Ohana and head to Morimota for an early dinner. This way we are not rushing there and hoping everything lines up right for us. Ohana looks good and would like to try it but it is not a must do for this trip.

In the past, after dinner was over, we have been able to walk down to the beach at the Poly and watch Wishes from there. They used to pipe the music in there on the beach. But, not sure if they still do that, especially after the alligator incident.

Ohana is an awesome experience and a lot of good morimotos is a good Asian cuisine , tough call

Apparently, I've gotten incredibly lucky at 'Ohana. I went for a late dinner twice when wishes was at 10...once at 9:30 and once at 9:50. I was seated promptly at my ADR time at a table by the window on both occasions. I also ate a 5:15 dinner there once (obviously didn't see Wishes that time), but was also seated promptly at a table by the window.

Yes you were lucky--

There is a reason why--when folks ask about restaurants with a fireworks view--hardly anyone mentions Ohana

I actually see a lot of people mention Ohana, and have even seen someone claim there are "lots" of tables that see Wishes and that everyone should do it.

Seems like bad advice to me, but.

OF course it's bad advice--as Scupper knows, only a handful of tables there have any thing resembling a bona fide view of the fireworks.
