I ended up switching around some ADRs since we are now doing a split stay between CSR and WL. It made sense to me to do our Polynesian dinners during our stay at WL because it would make for easier transportation (we'd probably go to MK more during our WL stay.) But, in changing it, I ended up with O'hana and Kona back to back. So, will this be ok as far as variety? I know they have totally different menus and atmospheres...just didn't know about the seasonings, etc. (Like when we went to Jamaica and EVERYTHING had a jerk seasoning on it :sad2: ) We planned on O'hana more for the fun aspect (and bread pudding) and Kona more for seafood...do I have an accurate portrayal? We've only been to O'hana before.

These two places are a very different experience despite being only about 20' apart.

'Ohana is a entertaining, all you can eat meal. Expect the restaurant to be a bit noisy with a lot of activity going on.

Kona is a nice restaurant with a good menu. Expect this to be a bit quieter and that the food is the main reason for dining there.

You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Would love to hear what others have to say on this one. I was not able to get an ADR for O'hana for our April trip and went with Kona instead. We have been to Kona for breakfast before and really enjoyed it, so I'm sure we won't be disappointed but was pretty bummed about not getting the O'hana ADR.

'Ohana is one of the toughest reservations to get while Kona is much easier.

We love both and the food is quite different. I can't think of any food in common except chicken wings.

I wouldn't hesitate to eat at both. We do every trip.:thumbsup2

I have eaten at both restaurants and they are very different. I like 'Ohana more. The food was delicious at both restaurants, but I love how 'Ohana brings out the food family style..and the bread pudding at the end is amazing!

I second that 'Ohana is definitely one of the toughest restaurants to get into. We made sure to book it at exactly 90 days (before it turned back into 180).

Thanks for the input! We loved O'hana on our visit too...and the menu at Kona sounded great so we opted for both. Before this week, the reservations were more spread out on our itinerary, but now they're back to back. Since we're all about variety, I just didn't want to do something that would taste similar 2 nights in a row.

Any suggestions for what to do after dinner for different experiences each night? I think one trip last year we stayed and watched the fireworks and boat parade from the beach at the Poly. Maybe head back to MK on the 2nd night?

We were hesitant about Kona too, but gave it a try our last visit in November. The teriyaki strip steak was a delight. I was able to substitute garlic mashed potatoes for the rice and DH had fries. Very tasty, I'm looking forward to it again in May!
