We are going to Ohana on this trip and I was wondering how the kids meals work. I swore I read somewhere that you can order them a meal if they won't eat what is served I think a lot of the items are things she isn't eating yet or have nuts in it. DD is 15 months and I don't think there is much she will eat but she will eat grilled chicken, chicken fingers, pizza, grilled cheese, pasta - is there a way to get her something like that.

Is this possible? Did anyone else take a 15 month old there and what did they eat?

You did and I am copying this from the Dis section for dining at Ohana:

Ohana's Dinner Child: Ages 3 - 9 (Children under 3 free) 5:00pm - 10:00pm - Starters: Pork fried dumplings, Corriander chicken wings, and Mixed Greens with Honey-Lime dressing. Skewers (prepared over an oak fire): Marinated sirloin steak, Asian BBQ pork loin, Mesquite grilled turkey, and non-peeled shrimp. Accompaniments: broccoli and green peas and pad Thai noodles. Sauces: peanut, chimichurri and sweet-and-sour. Dessert: 'Ohana bread pudding a la mode with Banana Foster sauce. **Note: Alternative selections for children: Chicken nuggets, Macaroni & cheese, Grilled cheese sandwich, PB & J sandwich, Hamburger, or Cheeseburger. All of the above served with French fries. Includes tea and soda. - $12.99 *

THANK YOU!! I knew I saw it somewhere!

She isn't eating steak yet, nor pork and her ped said no nuts or shellfish for a while. She can definitely eat something off that other menu and she loves broccoli and green peas so I know she will eat those with no problem.

I just wish they let you buy the dining plan for kids b.c she will end up eating her own meals at many of the restaurants more than off our plate (but at the buffets it is great!)

Thanks for asking this. My kids are picky eaters and they might eat a sticky wing, but thats it. Does this alternate kids meal just come automatically or do you have to tell your server?

If anyone knows, thanks!

We've been a few times and each time the server has asked right off if the kids wanted something different. One server, we actually said just a chicken fingers for our 2 DDs to share, and she brought them chicken fingers and mac and cheese, and automatically bowls of ice cream, not just the bread pudding for dessert.

Thank you! That sounds great! DD is a small but good eater (she will eat most of what I offer) but with only about 9 teeth she can't eat things like steak and her ped doesn't want her eating nuts, shellfish yet so that limits things.
