Ohana-alternate kids food?

We're going in December with 2 picky 3 year olds and I've heard that you can get alternate kids food, instead of the normal Ohana offerings. Anyone had any experience with this?? What was offered? Did you have to let them know in advance (when booking ADR's). In case it matters, we'll be on the DDP. Thanks

They've always offered kids food for the kids when we are first greeted by the wait person. No need to make the request at the time of ADR. I think we've had grilled cheese, chicken fingers, pb&j and mac and cheese. And of course, fries. Don't sell you kids short either -- mine tried and loved the coriander chicken wings and loved peeling the shrimp. They may try some of the skewered meat. It is very tasty. They have pinapple with a carmel dipping sauce for dessert. I don't recall them having any kid-friendly desserts. For as good as the meal is the pineapples always seem to be sour.

You don't have to say anything in advance. Just say something when you get your drink order. Mine had chicken fingers but the same as above poster tired and loved some of what we had. I believe they can have what is ever on the Kona kids menu but you pay the Ohana price. My kids and dh had ice-cream instead for dessert. We were on the DDP also and my dh thinks it's a super value on it. We will be back in July. Looking forward to it. It's so much fun for the kids and the adults get to have a great relaxing meal. We asked for Mac and Cheese...figured my 2 could split one order and eat some of the regular food. The waitress asked if they liked chicken fingers as well, and brought one of each. We had tons of food. They're very used to getting separate items for kids.

The last time we went DS was only offered chicken fingers or mac-n-cheese.

DD always gets the hot dog and fries there.
