So geeked up right now! We found a 200 pointer at Saratoga, that had 400 points dropping in April. Decided to take a flyer and see how it went... submitted, and accepted! Now to wait on the contract, then the real nail biting when it goes out for ROFR....

Congratulations, hope it passes for you. We own 250 points at SSR. The refurbishment is great. Right next to DS. It will take a little longer for ROFR, DVC said they are not doing them till early January. Fingers crossed.

I got my first contract this summer - 200 pts at SSR!. I sometimes wonder if I should have gone with AKV, but I was having a hard time finding an AKV contract that fit my parameters and after a few months of searching we went with SSR.

I just got my first dues invoice, which might hamper my entusiasm until our next trip.....

We were going back and forth between AKV and SSR too, but this one just checked all the point boxes, as in it wasn’t stripped (has points coming in 2022! Lol), actually was a bit more that we were targeting, but hey it’s more points and who wouldn’t want more. The price was spot on as well... Dues wise, I just am looking at those as a necessary evil.. I mean POP has been over 200 per night, so a week there would be more than the dues are for us, and we can go twice a year depending on the room.. at a minimum that’d be over $2000 for an infinitely smaller room. And while we’ve loved our stays at POP, we can’t wait to stay at one of the DVC resorts.

If you’re over $100/point, you have a better shot these days. Disney has been grabbing SSR contracts for some reason. That’s part of what moved me to buying AKV instead.

Yeah... that’s my biggest fear right now.. it gets snatched back.. lol. I’m going to look at it as Disney is letting 80% through..
