Oh well, whatever, nevermind.

I'm in Aberdeen.

:scared1:

I thought Nirvana was pretty cool in the 90's, but I enjoy the music more now as an adult than I did as a teenager.

My son is 14 and loves Nirvana. We are going to the EMP in Seattle (google it if you need to) next month to see the Nirvana exhibit. And have taken photos under the Wishkah Bridge that Kurt wrote about.

I'm so sorry! :guilty: (kidding. . . .kind of. .. :rolleyes1)

If you are going to make the trek to EMP consider taking a detour to Renton and visiting Jimmy Hendrix' grave. They re-did it and it's pretty cool. I used to drive by it all the time for work and finally took my kids up there. They liked it.

When did they redo it? I was there in late '06. Was it after that?

When Nirvana first came out... I was like :confused3. (I was listening to Body Count and Nine Inch Nails). Seeing them on MTV Unplugged totally changed the way I viewed them. I was hooked. I always have at least one Nirvana song on my walking playlist :thumbsup2

I went to EMP a few years back, but I MUST get back before the Nirvana exhibit is gone, which, I believe won't be for another couple years.

The exhibition is around until spring 2013, although (and don't quote me on this) it could likely be extended. I worked at the EMP offices while the Nirvana exhibition was in its conception stages and sat in on some interesting meetings... :rotfl:

Sorry, I'm not sure. The "new" memorial that I speak about was dedicated in 2002, but more granite work has been done since then. . .that's all that I could find. :confused3

If it looked like this in '06 then that's pretty much what it still looks like now. Sorry for the confusion.

Nirvana Unplugged remains in my all time top 10 favorite albums. I was entering Junior High in 1991. Pretty sure I never once attended a school dance (jr high or high school) that did not play Smells Like Teen Spirit... and get every single out kid out on the dance floor by doing so. I think we just jumped around and swung our heads to it.

My brother, who was just 5 in '91, is also a huge Nirvana fan. Did a roadtrip in the PNW with him last year (he was living in Seattle at the time), and he freaked out when we hit Aberdeen (he hadn't known we'd be driving through it). We took him to the EMP on that trip too.
