Some Haunted Mansion decor. I think that is a paper towel holder. A wine stopper. Salt and pepper shakers and a blanket.


This was a cute ornament.


This was a large plastic light up display of the Hitchhiking ghosts. This photo does not give you a good perspective as to how big this is.

It would have to be displayed inside as it is powered by batteries. I guess it would be a nice addition to a Haunted Mansion display indoors.

Saturday, September 13th continued


After we were done looking around World of Disney we walked over to Basin. They have the cutest Halloween soaps and bath bombs.












My sister is a big fan of the Sanderson Sisters.



This poison apple sweater was a design I have never seen before.


I was so tempted to get this backpack for my niece who is a big fan of Maleficent.

This Remy Lug bag was cute. I seen that these smaller bags are becoming more popular.






They always have a nice selection of Haunted Mansion things.


This light up poison apple was new.


I really liked this display. My niece is a big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas.

There was the photo station for pictures that was set up for Halloween pictures.


I wanted to save the best for last in the line of stores I love walking through and looking at all the pretty crystal and glass displays in Arribas Brothers.

This Rapunsel and Maximus crystal display was new.


I had never seen all these Star Wars figures before.







Not sure how well it shows, but this Headless Horseman blown glass sculpture waas awesome.


This was a nice idea for kids.

If you area a Hitchhiking Ghost fan they had some limited addition glasses.


The glass blown Star Wars characters were cool.




Of course the Crystal Castle masterpiece is worthy of a picture every time.


After we were done in Arribas our we went to do some more exploring.

I had never noticed this kiosk before.


Then it was on to the Christmas Store.




When you leave the Christmas Store out the side door there is a nice Halloween photo op on the outside of the building.

I really like walking through The Art of Disney Store.


This was a cute Nightmare Before Christmas print. I was tempted to buy this for my niece. It is probably a good thing I did not drive down as I would have had tons of space to fill up with gifts in my SUV,

Saturday, September 13th continued




Up next was a stroll through Goofy’s Candy Company.

We always like walking around and looking at all the Halloween desserts.


















Everything is so colorful.

It was time to think about lunch. There was only one place we were thinking about and it was the BoatHouse. It was Saturday and I knew it would be busy and it was.

I stopped at the outside reservation desk and was told it would be about a 20 minute wait. She asked if I wanted inside of outside. We wanted inside it was hot out and who wants to sweat while you are trying to enjoy a good meal.


While we were waiting we walked just a short distance to look in the Ganachery. There was a line to get in and we have been in the Ganachery many times. So it was not a big deal.


Also the line for Gideons was really long. We usually pop in there, but with the line backed up and around the corner we gave it a pass, but I did take a photo of what I call is the constipated Gargoyle on top of Gideons……..LOL


It was just about 10 minutes later when I received a text that our table was ready. I walked back to the BoatHouse and when I checked in the lady said they had only had outdoor seating. I reminded her when I had just walked up 10 minutes ago that we specifically requested indoor seating.

She then told me they did not have any indoor seating at this time. I told her it was to hot to eat outdoors and I would look for somewhere else to eat.

She then told me to go to the hostess inside and she would take care of the seating situation.

The hostess then said she could seat us inside. She took me to the middle dining room past the boat. It was busy inside. But there were tables available.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. I don’t know about the possible disconnect with the indoor dining room availability and the outdoor reservation person, but only when I was ready to walk away from eating here do to no indoor seating was the outdoor reservation person willing to cave and send me to the indoor hostess for a table indoors.

My interaction with the outdoor reservation lady was cordial so no issue there. Let’s just say the whole interaction and dishonesty left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I have eaten here a few times and never had this happen before.

My sister was looking in a store and I texted her and let her know where are table was and she was arrived in no time.

They delivered some ice water and some rolls that had a drizzle of some kind of light frosting on them. They tasted like a dessert roll and were very good.

Are waiter arrived and took our drink orders.

We ordered some of the large shrimp. The picture does not do it justice. The shrimp were huge and I’am glad we did not order more.



We ordered the wedge salad and the waiter said it is massive so we decided to share this and I was so glad we did as it was almost a whole half head of lettuce.


My sister K ordered a Bloody Mary and she said it was very good. It was topped with olives, lime wedge, pepperoncini and gulp another big shrimp.

I ordered a Coke Zero.



We both ordered the New York strip and fries and we both asked for a medium rare steak. I asked for no garlic cloves on my steak as the last time I was here they put a lot on the steak.

So when my steak arrived there were garlic cloves on it. I just took them off.

I have ordered this same meal many times before and the steak is cooked to perfection and is tender.

This time my steak was overcooked and tough. I ask my sister how her steak was and she said it was good. So I did not want to send my meal back as it would take time to get another meal and she would be done when my new meal arrived.

My fries were good.

Our waiter was nice, but he seemed to be distracted and lagged significantly in making sure our drinks were refilled and dishes were taken away in a timely manner. I had to flag him to refill my drink and it took him forever to return.

I chocked it up to the fact that is was a Saturday and they were busy.

This was not the best experience that I had come to expect of a meal at the BoatHouse.

So I think in the future I need to think about another place to lunch at Disney Springs. This could have been a one off, but over all not the same experience I had come to expect of the BoatHouse.



After lunch my sister said she had saw some of the BoatHouse Duck sippers and we looked for those and found them.



The ducks in the amphicars were cute.

After we were done at the BoatHouse we walked across to Joffery’s Coffee



They have a nice selection of coffee. The Hocus Pocus coffee is really good.




We did a little walking around and my sister wanted to go to Jack Lindsey’s Hanger Bar. She had seen the bar was decorated for Halloween online and there were Halloween inspired food and drinks.


A little information on Jock Lindsey’s.

There was a wait to get into the bar. It was nice that they had large unbrellas in the line to shade you from the sun.

I think it was about a 25 minute wait in line to get in. We watched a few people try and talk the outdoor person at the desk into letting them in ahead of the line and it did not work. They were told to get in line to enter.



The Halloween decortations were very reminiscent of the old decorations from the 40’s 50’s and 60’s.






There is indoor and outdoor seating available. You were asked when you walked up to the desk if you wanted indoor or outdoor seating. We chose indoor do to the heat.

I loved the Witch Cat Mom Halloween decorations.


I ordered a drink off the regular drink menu. The Cool-Headed Monkey.


I liked my drink.


My sister ordered the Spike Trap off the Halloween drink menu. She said her drink was very good.

We don’t do DS every trip as the crowds can be maddening @ night after a day in the parks. Had forgotten about that bar. Need to make a mental note to check it out for Xmas (so lovely then with the tree trail). Usually, we are in & out of that area, early after Boathouse & a couple of stores there.

I think our lunch at Boathouse was about 11:45 or 12 noon. I like going during the day and have not been to DS a lot during the evening.

I have found that visiting DS during the week like on a Tuesday or Wednesday is more quiet.

I try not to go to DS on weekends as it is really busy. It just sorta worked that we ended up going on a Saturday. We were on a go with the flow kinda vacation.

Saturday, September 13th continued


After receiving our drinks we had to try one of the Halloween foods and went with the Cursed Mummy Sausges.

The Sausages come in a Mummy Coffin. When the waiter took the lid off it made a scary noise.


It was basically little sausages wrapped in pastry puff dough. The pomegranate mustard dipping sauce was ok.








There is outside seating available. I was thinking it would have been probably a better option to sit outside even though it was warm as there was not much air moving inside. The outside seating it covered with a roof, but you would not get to enjoy all the Halloween decorations around you.


The vintage Halloween Blow Mold lights were fun and such a nice memory from when I was a child.




This had me wishing we had come for our Jock Lindsey decor visit at night as I bet this bar is beautiful with all the lights on at night. I’am guessing it would be very busy too.


We only tried one Halloween food item and it was good. I liked my cocktail better then the food.

Some folks that were sitting right next to us had Halloween cocktails and the Phantom Dumplings and they liked their drinks and food. How do I know!!!!! We were essentially sitting really close to each other.

We were sitting against the wall on the left side and you are sitting very close quarters to the table next to you. I felt bad for the young couple setting next to us as this was what appeared to be their first date and we were in it so to speak.

I had never been inside of Jock Lindsey’s so I don’t know what the space feels like without all the Halloween decorations around, but it is a small space inside.

There is also outside seating available.


I have read that Jock Lindsey’s also does a Christmas decorations theme and food for Christmas.

After we had finished our drinks we were ready to leave and head back to Portofino.

Disney Springs appeared to be even more busy then when we had arrived this morning as it was really humming with people.

We went to the parking garage and when we pulled out it started to sprinkle. Perfect timing for call it a day at the Springs.

We had an arrived back to Portofino and parked the car in the parking garage and it was so nice to walk into the wonderful smell in the Lobby and be in the airconditioning.

When we got back to the room we took turns in the bathroom. I had a shower and got into some comfy clothes and was ready for a little rest.

I took a picture of my Hami-Kuma popcorn bucket it is really creepy, but kinda cute too in a weird way.


I think I might of taken just a little nap.

It was about 6:00 when we ventured down to the Club Lounge for a light supper. We found a half circle table not far from the window.

There was a young couple with two little children at the other half circle table next to us.

During the evening meal there is two kinds of fresh lettuce and other fixings to make a salad plus they have a different mixed salad option every evening. This evening they had a delicious farro salad. So it was nice to have some light options for our meal this evening.

I was still enjoying my salad when the little girl at the next table had projectile vomit everywhere on the floor. I have to say she handled it well and did not scream or cry bless her.

I could tell she did not feel well. Her parents apologized profusely. The dad said they had just flown in from Scotland. I was amazed at the about of vomit that came out of that tiny little girl. My thought as a Nurse is that she must feel relieved to get all that out of her little tummy. My sister and I told them it was alright. We are parents and grandparents and it happens.

Needless to say dinner was over for us. I felt bad for the folks that had just sat down at the table near us to eat their dinner.

These things can’t be helped. The staff called for house keeping to come and clean up. This is one of the good things about having a huge area spread over multiple rooms of a Club Lounge as it affected this room only albeit it was the room where the meat carving station was.

The mom took the little girl to the lounge bathroom to clean her up and when they returned the family left the same time we did. They were really a sweet couple. The little girl who I’am guessing was about 4 looked a little better and her little brother looked to be about 6. They were cute little ones.

The dad kept apologizing as we walked out the door of the lounge. We told him not to worry about it. These things happen.

After we returned to the room may sister K called our older sister D. She was supposed to be coming over in the afternoon tomorrow for a possible overnight visit.

I needed to go down to my house which is about two hours south of Orlando and take care of a few things and get back so that was my plan for tomorrow.
