Oh the crazy things we do for our kids!

Okay so I had booked for my home BLT for the first time for July 25 - 30, 2010 for me hubby and 5 of our 6 kids. In November hubby and I escaped for 3 days to Kidani. Over the weekend our kids informed us that they really want to stay at AKLV and not BLT . So what's a mom to do - that's right give up BLT and change for AKLV. I did not go with Kidani, the walk is a little far to Jambo for the little ones, and getting on a bus to go to Jambo for breakfast is a pain. So how different is Jambo rooms from Kidani, also we have a 2 bedroom Savannah view any recommendations?? The room we had at Kidani was not the best Savannah it was more of the pool with the very beginning of the Savannah where no animals hung out Any help is appreciated!

Jambo doesn't have any dedicated 2 bedrooms and all of the 2 bedrooms only have 2 full baths, not the 3 that you have in Kidani.

We've mostly stayed in Jambo but when we've been in savannah views, we've only had studios. I really like Jambo, and I've especially had good savannah views on Arusha savannah. However, since the rooms are on the 5th floor you are a higher up than you could be if you were in Kidani.

I wouldn't bother to change to Kidani if you're OK with the 2 full baths. Like you, I enjoy the dining options at Jambo better than at Kidani.

I've never stayed at AKV, so I can't answer any of your questions, but your thread title caught my eye. (And the fact that you have 6 kids! I'm from a big family and loved it, but don't know how those moms keep their sanity!)

Anyway...DH and I were just talking about what we do for our kids the other day. My 3 year old will be doing Disney for the 5th time this year! We do some crazy things for our kids too, but figure as long as their happy and APPRECIATE what we do/they get, then it's one of the best things we get to do as parents.

Maybe in years to come they'll remember the time mom and dad gave up BLT so they could stay at AKV and say thanks!

Totally can relate to the craziness:
I switched a BWV stnd view to AKV savanna view (for more points over fewer nights) to please DS who really wanted to try AKV.
Then, after finally booking flights and deciding I would arrive 3 days earlier than DH & DS with just DD (less school missed for the older child ) I made the mistake of asking her where she would like to stay...she talked about "the place across from MK, but I know it is too much money, Mom..." and the next thing I know I'm cancelling a 4 night cash stay at WL and booking a one bed at BLT (those AP rates were just too tempting...)
And neither child has any idea of all my handiwork. Then again, neither does DH but I'm not sharing with him either!

Oh yes, the crazy things we do for them. Now who am I going to do all this for once they grow up and don't want to come along anymore?

Oh yes the kids must think all these changes just magically happen and that no work is involved in making ADR's etc. Some day they will do all this for THEIR kids and then they will know - I hope! But for now as long as I can put a smile on their little cherub faces than I will!!

We just got back from VWL and BLT. My kids loved BLT (yeah). We asked them if they want to stay at AKL our next trip Nov/Dec. They both want BLT so easy to walk to MK. Hopefully DH and I can try AKL on our own sometime.
