Did anyone else get creeped out over all the birds swooping and diving at MK? In Frontierland when we were there. My DH got pooped on. Made him mad. Made him even angerier that I couldn't stop laughing because only He, king of crabbiness could get pooped on in WDW!! LOL. Anyway, the birds are a real problem, aren't they? Wish people would stop feeding them.

I'm pretty sure that Florida birds are just plain evil. I was attacked three times in two days once while I was down there. Can't blame them though, it's because people feed them that they do it.

its the segulss that are the problem. They use to not be so bad but the hurricane blew quite a few inland. and since people feed them they now have a relativly easy way of life. If disney would get rid of them if they could but animal activists will get in uproar.

Disney has tried everything in Frontierland to get the birds out... For a time they had clear fliment fishing line strung above the walkway... The birds keep coming back... We sit on the rockers and watch as unsuspecting guests carry their trays loaded with FF and the birds swoop dow and grab them.. What is really amazing is watching the egrets eating turkey legs that guests feed them... :duck:

the main bird culprits in Florida are Ibis and different types of Egrets. blame the people that have been to the parks before you and fed them a steady diet of french fries. :)

While eating poolside at AKL, a grackle jumped up on our table and stole a fry from my dh's plate! It caused a ruckus at our table!:rotfl:My kids were :rotfl2:

I'm always freaked by the birds and afraid that I'll get pooped on. My husband made fun of me until HE got pooped on. Why do they pick Frontierland??

We hate the birds. I want someone to bring a tennis racket in sometime and just hold it in the air. There should be enough birds that run into it with no help that it could be interesting. I also hope that people would stop feeding them so much

It's definitely the people who feed them. Last year, a very young child was eating a french fry and was scratched when the bird swooped in. Mom was so upset and I don't blame her.

we were at Sea World in 2000 and I bought some fish to feed the seals. Well, they come in this little cardboard container. This huge bird with a big beak comes flying towards me and pinches my fingers and steals my fish! My dh is :rotfl: . And the lady from seaworld says they are protected and they wouldn't let me have another container of fish:( Now I look back its funny (it hurt too). :teeth:

The good news is that the seagulls are seasonal. They go to the coast when it gets really hot. Frontierland at MK and the area just before you reach Canada in WS at Epcot are the worst areas for seagulls. Funny, they both have McDonalds fries in those areas. I think seagulls love McDonalds fries. People really need to not feed them.

OMG! At the Poly last Jan. people were attacked by seagulls, for thier food. O.K speaking of birds, does anyone remember Discovery Island and the voltures???CREEPY.....

DH & I didn't realize we were in the bird zone when we sat down outside at Peco Bill's , but we soon found out. We didn't mind to much till our tray got pooped on. Glad we were almost finished & I really didn't need to finish that burger anyway.
Better to be pooped close to rather than pooped on :teeth:

that was a woodstork and they are protected. :) but seaworld is usually very liberal about replacing any fish that get swiped. sounds like you got a bad TM. I've seen people try to feed an egret a piece of the hambuger bun. it wouldn't take it. but if they offered a french fry, it would pounce. we're addicting our wildlife to them now. and there is something very creepy about seeing a bird eat a hunk of turkey leg....

DH got pooped on by a bird in the tree next to the AstroOrbiter line! There were soooo many birds in that tree I was kind of thinking it was going to happen. We had literally just checked into the GF and headed to our first ride at the MK! A lady told us it was good luck to get pooped on! :crazy2: Umm - ok...... That's one way to look at it! He just went to the restroom and scrubbed his shirt off with water and antibacterial soap, which he must have used a ton of ,because literally the whole front of his shirt was wet when he came back! :rotfl2:

DH said the same thing, very creepy to see birds eating a turkey leg. All the references to McDonald fries and how the birds only want those....makes ya wonder what those potatoes are fried in, things that make you go hmmmmm :scratchin

I will admitt after we figured out where "bird land" was...it was funny to people watch under the safty of cover. One lady got her head dive bombed, not sure she thought it was funny. However, someone should have told her that BIG hair went out of style some time ago :rotfl2: Do you suppose anyone sues Disney after being hurt? There go the ticket prices again!!

Please people, do not feed the birds!!!

Just wanted add that in Frontierland in DISNEYLAND we saw two huge swarms of bees up by the light poles. Really freaked me out way more than the birds do!!

Oh my goodness! We could not believe the amount of birds two weeks ago at MK! (especially in Frontierland and Tomorrowland) The problem we saw was exactly what everyone else is saying, people feeding the birds. There were quite a few times we had to duck or cover our food. It was a little creepy. I think they should enforce not feeding the birds and throw you out if you do. :confused3

Disney has a new plan to eliminate the bird problem. They are bringing in Dick Cheney and crew. You might want to avoid Frontierland that day.
