*I'm* even getting annoyed with myself!
OK. Some of you know that I "came back" to WISH a week or so ago. I was doing South Beach with my mom for the past two weeks(before I always did Atkins), and she did pretty well. I'm so happy for her because she hasn't had any successes for a while.
I, on the other hand, did well the first week and then something happened the second week. It's hard for me to explain. Bear with me.
I've been "low carbing" it, on and off, (mostly off, obviously
) for about 9 years. I know SB isn't a low carb program, per se, but the first two weeks are, and that's what I was doing.
It's like...............I hit a wall. I don't know why. I haven't a clue. I love low carb eating. I love the science behind low carb eating. But right now I want to throw it out the window!
So.........for the past week, I have been trying something different. In the past, I've tried doing a program that watches your portions very carefully. Basically, I would call it what others on this board call, "sensible eating".
I have cut back LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE. But I still input everything on fitday.com so that I "know" what I am getting as far as protein, fat, carbs. So far it has been great. I feel so in control.
The one night we ordered Pizza hut pan pizza. Now, before, this kind of food had a neon sign over it saying, "EVIL, EVIL",
And I can go MAJOR out of control over something like that. You're going to think I'm nuts...............I set a timer. I set 2 minutes between each bite. I made that one piece of pizza last 24 minutes. ISN'T THAT CRAZY! My DH ate 5 pieces in less than half that time, and don't think I couldn't have done it right along with him. I've done it many times. And I was actually full after one piece. How could that be?? Don't I need to eat at least 3 pieces to get full?? (my self was saying to myself)
Wow.
And today..... I had plenty for lunch(turkey, 1/2 baked potato, some snap peas) so I'm going to have the salad part for my dinner.
I'm sorry this is so long. I guess I just wanted to come here and vent and get some feedback also. This is such a struggle, isn't it??
Do those of you that just watch calories, eat sensible, whatever you call it..........what do you find the hardest?? Have you had success?? Why do you think you've had success?
I have to tell you. I'm scared to death for this not to work. I feel like if this fails, I'll fail. ANd I just can't bare that.
What do you think? Am I crazy?
