Oh Oh...I'm not getting my ME tags

Oh dear, my Magical Express tags are not coming When I still hadn't received my tags a week ago, I called CRO and double checked that they had all the info right, they did, and they said not to worry I'd receive the tags. Well, I leave in 6 days so called the ME line today, they looked at the info and could see that my tags had been undeliverable , seems that someone had put my address and postal code in okay, but then failed to add Ontario Canada, so they came back So...it is too late now and I will not be getting them. I have used ME twice before, with tags in Oct and everything went great. But I also used it during May last year, when the program had just begun. I never received my tags for that trip either, and while I received my luggage okay, my friend never did receive hers! I realize that the program was in it's infancy then, but still...
So, do I go and get my luggage myself, or trust them to find my luggage without the tags

Just a little advice to others, if you are calling to check on your tags, call the ME line directly and not CRO. I wish I had. The number is 866-599-0951

Same thing happened to us last September. Strangely enough, we are also in Ontario, Canada. We checked in with Magical Express when we got there and they confirmed our reservation and just asked for the details on all the bags. I had added my own tags with our name, resort name and # ___ of 5 bags and attached one to each bag. I made an extra one to show the people at the ME counter and all of our bags were delivered to our rooms with no problems at all. The woman at the ME counter kind of acted like I was being a little over-the-top making my own ME tags, but I had gotten the idea from the DIS and I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Don't worry, it will all be fine!

Thanks zookeeper for the vote of confidence It will be so much easier if I don't have to drag my luggage around with me. I like your idea of making up your own tags

Katy--do you have a digital camera? If you do, snap a shot of each piece of luggage after you've packed it, and you can also show that to the DME reps when you're checking in.

I just used ME during our last minute spring break trip. I didn't have enough time to get the tags sent to me since I only booked about 5 days before we travelled. I was a little concerned about them finding my bags and getting them to me, but everything went just fine .... ME was wonderful.

When I checked in at the ME desk, they showed me photos of different styles of luggage. I picked the one that was closest to our style and they wrote down everything I said when they asked me to describe our luggage.

I would recommend that you put some unique things on your luggage to make it "stand out from the crowd" and easy for them to find. I tied bright orange ribbon to the handle of each bag ... all matching... and put a Mickey sticker on each piece of luggage ... again all matching !

No problems at all.

I think the idea of taking a digital photo of the bags is great !
Take it at home just before you leave and print a copy of the photo on plain paper ... you could then just hand it to them at the ME desk !

More great ideas. Thanks DVCindy. Glad ME worked so well for you, I think I'm going to be brave and take the chance of letting them find my luggage LOL. I do have my luggage marked as well, but think I'll add some ribbon just to be sure. Only 3 more days until my trip

Hi everyone Just wanted to give an update, I am back from another wonderful trip...now starting the countdown until Oct
I did decide to let disney collect my luggage, even though they didn't have the tags and all went well. I did receive my luggage in my room about 3 hours later! I also used all of your advice, took pics of my luggage with my digital camera and added a couple colourful ribbons to my already well marked luggage...and the ME people only wanted the tag #'s given by the airline and for me to point to the picture on the folder they show you of the luggage most closely resembling yours LOL. I tried to say but...but...but...don't you want a better description ....but LOL they did not Anyway, all went well!
