Hubby just brought our waterproof camera in to have the film developed (we used it to take photos of the stingray snorkeling in Grand Cayman and the snorkeling in the Keys), and he was told that somehow it got cracked!!! There is a small possibility that they might be able to develop some of the photos, but it doesn't look good (they sent it to the lab to see what they can do). I am sad because I really wanted to see the photo of the stingray on my head, among others!! Of course, hubby says it's just another reason to go on the Western again.

Oh no is right! :( It's always sad to lose treasured memories like that.

Guess it's time to figure out a time to work in the Western again, and hopefully get a more reliable underwater camera! ;)

Any excuse to go on another cruise!:p

So sorry to hear that!!! I've actually been sorting through my pics from the 5/25 tonight.

I was so concerned about the warnings of sending undeveloped film through the x-ray machines at the airport that I had a roll developed almost every night on the ship. So we didn't have to develop any when we returned home!

We also had a scare when we misplaced our underwater camera on our excursion ship, then another family had ours but it looked just like theirs. So another reason to develop on the ship!!! Luckily... the camera we ended up with was ours!

On the ship, Shutters developing was $10.40 per roll of 24, singles.

I bought an underwater camera, and it was only when we were snorkeling pretty far out at CC that I remembered that I left it on the ship!! That was a total bummer. I brought my regular camera, but was so excited to get off the ship at CC I forgot the other. -Sue

Oh sure, you two need a reason to go again !! look it's Sunday lets go...or I just saw an ad for sunscreen...lets go !! Come on Barb tell us the truth....you two really own the DCL !!!!!!
DON"T YOU !!!!!!!!!!!

I guess technically we do, since we are Disney stock holders, but I try to forget that fact because of how low it's dropped...although you'd think all our cruises would bring it up a little!
Actually, hubby got me to give him a framed share from oneshare.com for Christmas last year. Even though we already owned multiple shares of the stock, he wanted the actual certificate. I have to admit that it's really cute!

Its always a good idea to put an address label on your disposable cameras. This way if anyone finds it, they can return it to you. I always do this, but thankfully have never had one lost.

For the underwater ones, just put a piece of scotch tape over it to protect it from falling off.

Just a note to encourage you. A few weeks ago we were hiling and my DD dropped my camera (not a disposable one) into a creek. When we got the camera out of the water, water was running out of it. I took the film to be developed anyway, and they told me that they unroll the film and let it dry for about 1 week. I got my pictures! The color wasn't as vibrant as it usually is, but I'm just thankful I got the pictures. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I've got my fingers crossed!!!
Quite a while back, we were at WDW and it was the week before Journey Into Imagination was closed for ruining...er, updating (the first time...they are on another version now). That was one of my all-time favorite rides, and I knew it would be the last time I would see it. In all the times we had been to WDW, we had never seen Dreamfinder and Figment in person, even tho' I heard they are often around. On that trip, when we exited the building, there they were!! Needless to say, I seized the photo opportunity. We had an Advantix camera...that was back when they first came out, and they were unreliable (to say the least). Unfortunately, we didn't know that...when we got home, the film got jammed and I thought my precious Figment photos were lost. Kodak sent the film to their lab and replaced the camera. Thankfully, when we eventually got it back, Figgie was one of the photos they were able to save!! That photo now resides in a Figment frame on my desk at work, sitting just below a sketch of Figment that Don Williams did for me on one of our Disney cruises. I'll be sad if the stingray photos are gone, but at least they can eventually be replaced. Figment and Dreamfinder were on of a kind!

Barb, you need to go read the thread on the new ride- sounds like Figment's back, along with 'one little spark' in a big way! :) Wdwlvr and I hated the last incarnation too.

Good luck on the film!

I have had film developed onboard on two different sailings....the convenience is great, but I did notice the quality is not up to par with where I bring it at home (one hour photo place, same cost as DCL). The colors were much duller and not as sharp. But it is great if you want them while you are onbaord.

We used a disposable underwater camera on our last cruise. When it was developed, the pictures were terrible and very blurry. We were very disappointed as we used it for snorkeling in Trunk Bay. Maybe that is what happened to ours. Good luck.
