I have to say looking at the pictures of the DLHotel.. Im a little disappointed and hope that our stay there in a couple of weeks is not affected.

Whilst I appreciate these things need to be done, I would have liked someone in the call centre to have said before I booked it! (seeing as I spent over £1000 pounds for the "perfect" trip)

You know, when youre trying to make everything perfect, its just worrying when you see the hotel covered in scaffolding. Knowing my luck our room will be right behind that scaffolding! : :sad2:

Has anyone been recently who can reassure me?

many thanks

There was scaffolding up when we went in July. We were informed when we booked however our room was not near the scaffolding. I would phone them and see if you will be affected by it.

yeah we saw the scaffolding up at the end of septmeber.......it werent just that though there was actual buidling work of some kind happening with a lot of power tool noise and hammering.

As most of your time will be spent in the parks I'm sure it will be fine. Probably a good idea to phone and ask for a room not affected by this :goodvibes

Sorry Sammy

We did still see scaffolding last week mostly to the right of the entrance. I'm sure you will be placed away from it though. The DLH is huge.

You always can ask for another room.
Not when the hotel is fully booked! And it will be fully booked in the Halloween week! (scholl holidays in France!)

I called the hotel. It seems that the scaffolding should be coming down in the next day or two - yippee

The only rooms that will still be affected at the castle club rooms (i would be annoyed if scaffolding was outside my room, and I had paid all that money!)

I have also had a quick chat with concierge about DH's 40th bday - and hopefully they will ring me back with some ideas of what they can do.

Uh oh! We have a Castle Club, Park view room booked for 4 nights from 5 Nov. Do you think we will be affected?

Thanks for the heads up.

since I posted that comment, I have spoken to them again, as a nice lady called Amelie called me back.

Honestly, I think you probably WILL be affected by it from what she said, but she was quite non-specific.

I would ring the hotel directly and ask them.

Hope its ok for you. We leave before you arrive, so hopefully they might have finished.. but I dont know..

Let us know what they say will you?

Hope that helps..

Thanks for the number Sammie. Turns out it was on my ticket anyway. D'oh!

I called and was told that as our room is Park View we will not be affected. Garden view rooms have scaffolding but park view rooms have not???????????

Anyway- very pleased to hear we haven't got a scaffolding view.

Does your DH know about your trip? Any idea on the weather forecast for when you go? I guess it is too early to tell yet.

Thanks again,
Mandy :sunny:

oh good news! at least you can relax now Mandy! Park view sounds very exciting! We cant get into castle club so I dont think its happening for us! (park view that is)

No, not looked at forecast yet..

were going no matter what, and I will be prepared for all weathers! Rain is fun! :)
