Oh No! Snow!

We are supposed to leave Tuesday night from Philly. The weather forecast is calling for possible 1 to 2 FEET of snow. OMG!

We are flying US air. It figures. It never snows where I am and now it may ruin my trip./


Isn't Disney's cancellation policy 24 hours in advance? How am Isupposed to tell if our plane won't leave?

Any advice?

I live in Wilm DE and the forecast I heard for philly was for 1 to 2 inches

We are flying out on Wednesday from Philly. 1 member of our party has a flight at 7:00am on wednesday and the other 5 of us don't leave until 6:00pm. Hopefully this storm will just dissipate to rain!

We are driving wednesday afternoon to Florida. Originally we were going to drive out route 78 west to go to my sisters in statesville north carolina, then stay there and continue the next day. but after hearing about the upcoming storm, we decided to have her meet us on I95 somewhere in south carolina so we can avoid the mountains.

The storm in Philly itself may not impact departures, but a plane coming in from elsewhere that then goes on to Orlando might not make it out... if it never makes it in.

On Southwest airlines looks like the 5:25 out of Philly is on time, the 6pm is delayed to 7:30 and the 8:15 is cancelled. The flights out of BWI after 4 pm are cancelled. We leave tomorrow out of BWI, I am praying the flights are on time then......

Most of the flights on Southwest last night to Orlando were cancelled. I was schedeuled on the 5:25 pm. We opted to spend the night in the airport to leave on a flight sometime today. As of right now, we are scheduled on a 2:15 pm flight TODAY. Cross your fingers and spread some disney magic this way, so we can get down to Orlando and start my mom's 50th birthday celebration!

Good luck in the airport. DH's aunt was supposed to arrive in PHL from MCO last night initially at 7:45 pm. Times went back and forth from leaving 2 hours late, to leaving on time, to leaving two hours late. Ended up flight was cancelled. She opted to stay down until Thursday, since the weather is still crappy here. Took ME back to AllStar Movies. Oh to be stuck in Disney.

Hi, we were also on the 5:25 last night. We were joking it was the fastest vacation we've ever been on. Board plane, roll away from the gate for two hours, roll back in. Woo!
Sorry to hear you had to stay in the airport though. We are lucky that we are only 20 minutes or so from the airport.
We are booked on the 12:55. I started calling customer service before we were even officially cancelled so I think I lucked out. However, looking at the weather now I am not optimistic we will even get out. It's sleeting and according to weather.com it will continue to do so all day.

SW has cancelled all morning flights at BWI though the afternoon flights are still on. We have a 5:55pm flight, please pray for us. If our flight is cancelled there is not another flight available till Monday. So I guess we will be driving.

Although I'm not traveling today, I understand the anxiety. I moved to VA from MI to get away from that. Looks like I didn't get far enough south as we're covered with 1/2 inch of ice this morning.

HEHEHEHEHE!!!!! It's not going to be in the 20's!!!!! Anything over 50 will feel warm to us!!!!

SW canceled all of their flights out of Dulles today (just two). I guess that means that those in Orlando are stuck there as well. Sucks for those on that 2:30is flight that could get home today. But since the plane is sitting up here, they are stuck I guess.

We made it out! USair cancelled all there flights. So after running back and forth from terminal to terminal to try and get on anything going out that night the lady from US air shases us down and says she has 5 seats on the one and only flight leaving for Orland. YIPEE! I was going to fly into tampa anddrive.
We got stuck on the runway for 2 hours. They wouldn't let the kids up to go to the bathroom and did not give out drinks. Our flight on the way back was a nightmare also. I'll stick with SW or Airtran from now on.

we got to FW at 5 am ! Whopee we made it. Who cares what time. Slept late and was a little late for our PS at CP for lunch but had an awesome time at Disney!!

Thanks for posting your outcome. I remember reading your post and was thinking about you on the day of the storm. I'm glad you made it there ok. I was thinking about how terrible it must be to do all of that planning for a trip and have it delayed because of weather. I hope you had a great time!
