I'm beginning to think that my DD, granddaughter, & I simply aren't suppose to make this trip to Disney at all!

We were scheduled to go Dec. 2nd and had to cancel that due to my DD's health problems and no time left for her to take off from work..

Rescheduled to Feb. 2nd.. Now there's a problem with that as well.. DD & DH found a wonderful house that they really want so they put an offer in and they're waiting to see if it will be accepted.. If it is, they would "close" on or around Jan. 5th and DD will have to take time off from work to move..

Now I'm trying to push the trip off a little further and I have NO idea what other time frame would be good.. Don't want to go when the parks are MOBBED - but I don't care of there's enough folks there to keep it bustling either..

Definitely don't want to be there when the humidity is really high and there's lots of rain though, so what does that leave me???

Late March? Certain periods in April? The very beginning of May?

I swear - if I have to go on the SW web site one more time to change my reservations I'm probably going to get this big pop-up screen that says:

"Change these reservations again and the three of you will be riding on folding chairs on the wing!!!!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

OR - should I just take the $657 "hit" - not use the airline tickets at all - and try again for NEXT December? The whole idea of this trip to begin with was so we could experience WDW in all it's holiday splendor and attend MVMCP....

I just don't know what to do........... :(

Suggestions?

Oh C. Ann, I am so sorry to hear that your plans keep going awry! I have been following your threads, and I know how much this trip means to you!

If you need to push this trip out again, I would suggest early May (the first week, if you can). March and April (through Easter) can be so crowded, although I think the weather can be beautiful that time of year! We like to travel in early Dec, early May or late Jan. The problem with Orlando is you just really can't predict the weather. In early Dec last year, I recall reading that it rained buckets! In early May, it tends to be not as hot and humid, but this past year we experienced hotter and more humid temps (no rain though!) during our 5/7-5/14 trip.

I just know that this trip WILL come together for you! Sending pixie dust your way!

P.S. If they put you on the wing, in folding chairs, make sure you wear some goggles! Can you imagine taking a bug in the eye at that speed!?

If you don't want to go when it's mobbed I don't recommend March through April. That is a very busy time, peak season, spring breaks, Easter, etc.

Unfortunately, after that the humidity will definitely begin to build, but I'd rather deal with the humidity than mobs of people. Early May can sometimes be rather humid but it won't be as busy as the prior months.

I concure with the above posts, I'd shoot for early May. My family's last trip was mid-May '03, and while it was humid, it wasn't too bad. I think because the parks weren't so crowded it made it much easier to deal with the temperatures. I just had to deal with a week's worth of bad hair days!

I really hope it works out for you. I think if I ever had to cancel a DW trip I'd break down and cry!

...Or I think I'm free to go in early Feb.!:teeth:

I ran into a similar problem. My employer failed to transfer my vacation request from one department to another and there was a possibilty that I would not be able to go on our upcoming trip. Finally got the "should be OK" from them this past Tuesday.

I'd shoot for May. It'll give your DD time in the new house as well.

Sounds like May is the time to go. Could you go during Mother's Day? The last week of April wouldn't be bad either.

If you arre going to lose your money one airline tickets is there a way you can go and take your Granddaughter? Then at least your only losing one airfare.

We are going Mid May please tell me it's not too humid.
I have hot flashes as it is. LOL

Thanks for the responses!

What would the weather be like the end of April - beginning of May?

Would it be as hot and humid as September?

Generally, early May is quite nice with very little rain. It can get hot mid-day but it will cool off to pleasant temps in the evening. It's nowhere near as oppressive as in the summer months.
