Oh no! Missed my DING!

I just saw the DING that I was waiting for.. and they are all gone. They went fast! I have been reading everything I can find about SW and DINGS, but what are the chances they will offer another one for this particular day & airport? I'm thinking the chances aren't very good..
So.. is it usually a one-shot type deal?

A lot depends on your dates of travel. One can't get every DING! offer that comes around, so be on the look out for internet specials...offered thru email updates on Tuesdays, and sometimes on Fridays. I've rebooked as many as 4 times to get the best deals via internet specials and DINGS!. Good luck.

Thank you for responding It's January 2nd, so it's the tail end of the busy season, I think. I was shocked to see a $49 ding. We would have saved $318 total Oh well.

Keep your eyes peeled. or should I say ears?
I've been Ding-obsessed for over a year (5 trips).
At least for Philly, Dings are like busses. If you miss one, another will be along soon.
It may be sold out for your southbound leg but might still get lucky for the flight home.

Sorry new at this... also do you receive email specials if you already booked a trip? Can my trip get cheaper with an email special? If so how do I sign on?

We are traveling on the 18th and 22nd of Dec and we have had 2 Dings for the way down and 3 for the return (last one was higher). So there is hope and for Jan they just started as well so you have all of Dec for it to come again.

Go to Southwest's homepage. There is a box where you can type in your email address to get weekly or more often updates. Every Tuesday and whatever day of the week they choose, usually Fridays updates appear. They will appear even if you have booked previously.

While you're at it, sign up for Rapid Rewards.Their latest offer, both my wife and I got it, is if you fly 3 round trips from 11/9 to 2/20, get a free flight. We already had 2 scheduled, so booked a quick weekend trip to San Francisco. You can now use 2 Rapid Reward awards to fly to Hawaii/Maui via Southwest/ATA.

Also, keep in mind that just because the DING page says Flight #### from 1/2-1/31, does not necessarily mean that it's offered every day. More recently, if IOW and Promotional Fares are unavailable, the liklihood of a DING for that particular day is minimal. If you've booked an IOW, and IOW are still available for your days then you may get a DING. And they may offer them again.
I waited forever for a ding for travel in early Nov and one finally came out about a week before out flights. Total savings per ticket was only $15. Nice, but I was hoping for alot more.

Thanks for those words of encouragement- I am hoping for a Ding out of Manchester for 12/13. Currently booked w/Ding for 12/14 but would love to go the night before and make a change. Next time I will definitely book one-way tix! Im keeping my fingers crossed that I will get my wish in the next week or so.

Hi! Just feel lucky you still get "good" DINGS. I'm from Western Ma so usually fly out of BDL. Last fall we flew on the $49 DINGS, this year, the best Dings offered for our November travel we $84-$99. No good IOW rates, either.

We ended up flying home from Tampa to get a deal. For our April trip, I've already chaged us to fly out out of ALB instead of BDL to save $200. Gotta love SW though, if they do discount, I can alwasy change it back!

BTW, Be sure to check your dates daily. Ya know, right now, the IOW fare for 12/13 is $59!
