OH NO!! Jury duty three days before I leave

Here in Nassau County, NY, they have an automated system. You call the number, ask for a new date (must be within a 6 month period), and that's it.

You should request a delay in your jury duty. They wanted me over the summer. I'm a teacher & NO WAY was I going to give up even one precious day of my summer break. I told them I'd be happy to come in DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. They granted me a postphonement & now my jury duty is next week!! I'm looking at it as a nice little break from school & my class will have a substitute.

Hi TigerKat,
Jefferson Parish is big on one-day trials if at all possible. So even if you can't get out of it and are picked to serve, it probably will only be for the day.

You'll probably have an easier chance of getting excused because of your business.
