I had a voicemail from 407-354-2731 that asked for me to call back with my reservation number, and it was about my ADR at O'hana on April 27th. I got all excited, thinking I was in for a little Disney Magic!!! :yay::woohoo: Then I looked up the number...:sad2: It seems I'm in for just the opposite, and my reservation is about to be cancelled because someone elses Disney Magic is more important than mine?!?:sad1: If this is the case, it doesn't seem fair:confused:...has anyone else had this happen? And what should I do?!?

They do this? What the heck?

That doesn't make sense. I have never heard of such a thing and can't imagine that happening. You definitely would never get "bumped" from your reservation for someone else. No way.

Did you call back? What did they say?

I just wouldn't believe it. Disney doesn't operate that way. there has to be some kind of misunderstanding. Have you looked up your reservation number on disneyworld.com?

they might want to have you change your time or tell you that there is going to be a large party of kids there at the same time , I know are local high school band is going to be there at that time so maybe they got a group reservation

I just googled that number and there is a thread on these boards about people getting bumped because one of their ADRs was at a place that has been booked for a private party.

I hope that's not the case with you, but just thought I'd let you know what I found.

Apparently, when it happens, the people calling work VERY hard to accomodate you at another location of your choosing.

Oh no! I had no idea they could do this! Hopefully you can get a another res.

Can you call back tonight? If you're getting bumped, better to call sooner rather than later before all the other options fill up. Good luck!!

Oh yes Disney does operate this way! We were called on the DAY of our ADR and told not to come to Ohana's (and this was a holiday weekend).

I didn't know they did this either, but I would want to change my reservation if the palce was going to filled up with high school kids ( no offense, but I was one once and I know how loud they can get..lol) I'm sure if thats the case they will work hard to get you taken care of. Please post with a follow up.

I did call back and left a message, guess they were either busy bumping others or closed. I then called the dining res, line, and they were of no help, said that they aren't showing anything the matter, and gave me the number I had from the voice mail. I also saw the old thread from the Dis. That's how I figured this is what is about to happen...just doesn't seem right. I have had these reservations since NOVEMBER!!! I did them online, and have the print outs...UGH!!!

We had reservations at the SOA for May 12, the 8pm show. Someone from the Polynesian called and said that there was a big convention or something that had rented the entire SOA for the 8pm show and that we would have to change it. We were able to just move it to the 5pm show. It wasn't a problem for us, but I could see how this can upset your entire plan for the week if you have to start changing things. Hope things work out for you too.

Now you have me worried because I also have reservations at O'hana on April 27th....please keep us posted.

Sorry:guilty:...but I just got off the phone, and sure enough I had to switch around my ressies. The reason I was given was that it would be closed for "routine maintenance"...what could I say?!? So, I'd say be prepared, and have an alternate (or two) for your reservation at O'hana if it was for breakfast...

And just an FYI, they weren't as accommodating as I had hoped, but in the end, it all worked out...

I'll be curious as to whether you get a call as well...

Your ressie is the reason the OP is getting bumped...lol!

Let us know if you get bumped too. Wondering if a fib is being told or not by WDW reservations.

I wondered about the "fib" part too, but what other options did I have? None. I did read that this can happen if there are "private parties" going on (I guess you can rent out the restaurant), but that wasn't what I was told. Believe me, I was ready for THAT excuse... and THEN my opinion would have been known (in vain, I'm sure-but would have made me feel better)!:headache::rolleyes1

I'll be at the Poly April 23-30, having O'hana breakfast on the 24th. I'll be sure to busybody around the morning of the 27th and see what's going on. :tiptoe:

Routine Maintenance sounds fishy to me since Disney seems to schedule things like that in advance and to do so at one of the most popular restaurants during one of their busiest times, just does not add up, but then if they were to tell someone the cancellation was do to them renting out the place for a private function, and bumping someone for that reason, I know I would raise a little He__, and expect to be compensated with free drinks, or dessert for my inconveyience. But that is just me, I worked in customer service for 18+ years and know you always want to leave the customer as happy as possible nothing worse than "bad word of mouth" to any business and Disney is no exception.

My reservation is for dinner and i haven't received a call yet....will keep you posted and sorry that you got bumped

I have a reservation that night as well...at 6:25. It is my daughter's Make a Wish trip...I haven't gotten a call yet either. Hoping I don't. I will not be happy as we planned all of our itinerary etc based on this MK day and our dinner!!!!
