Looking for suggestions within some very specific requirements:

1) A restaurant (obviously!)
2) That accepts DDP
3) One table service credit
4) NOT inside a park.

Boma (which we've been to before) and Whispering Canyon (which we haven't) are under consideration. Any thoughts on these or any others? And please, if you could take a few seconds to post WHY you like or dislike a particular place, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We had Boma once for breakfast and we were not that impressed. It wasn't terrible it just wasn't that great or memorable for us. I know some people who LOVE Boma--we just aren't those people.
We never at WC-therefore I can not comment.
We think Raglan Road is wonderful. It is the one place we have eaten at every year. It is on DDP and it is not inside a park--it's located DTD. I will say it does tend to get loud due to the live band.
Good luck deciding on a place!

I love Boma. I personally think it is the most delicious buffet on property with a great selection of food.

That said, our family's all-time favorite is 'Ohana. Something about the combination of atmosphere and food makes it perfect. We love being able to see the castle light up as we eat dinner, the kids love the fun and games and we have never been disappointed in the food either. It is always a MUST DO every trip.

Caveat - Boma - for *DINNER* - is my favorite restaurant in the universe - not just the "World". I like the variety, the quality, the ambiance, and the service. There are, though, folks who don't like it, many of whom find almost all the dishes to be too sweet. (That's not my experience. Different palates, I guess?)

I love the setting of Whispering Canyon, right in the fabulous lobby of Wilderness Lodge. The atmosphere is fun, and the food is tasty, but my wife and I don't care for it all that much because most of the meat is smoked. If you liked smoked meats, it may be for you.

Also, it was the case at one time that the served a bottomless milk shake - the only one I've ever seen anywhere.

If you're looking for an out-of-the-way hidden gem, you might consider the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. It's not elaborately themed, but it is very attractive. Seldom is it crowded, which tends to result in better service, and you can often get a last-minute or walk-up seating. The food is not "exotic", like Boma, it's pretty standard fare. But it's really *good*. Just across the river is Downtown Disney, reachable by boat, if you want an evening's entertainment before or after dinner.

If you want something in the Magic Kingdom area, The Wave at the Contemporary is good, although some might consider it a little "frou frou". Not usually as wide-open for seating as is the Turf Club, but reservations are usually available even a few days in advance.

Another option for a good time - Boatwright at Port Orleans Riverside. The food is not exceptional, but if you time it right, you can have a great time afterward in the lounge with Yeehaw Bob. I can't remember the specific times he performs, but my experience is that almost everyone will have a good time at the show.

Something here ought to fit your needs.

We very much enjoyed WCC on our 2009 trip. Good food and we had a super fun waiter.

Food-wise though, our favorite restaurant that meets your requirements was Kona. YUM!

Boma for dinner is definitely the vote at my house. We have gone three times now and it is the only restaurant that makes the entire groups list every time.

Our family likes Boma, Ohana(Poly) and Cape May(at Beach Club)...yummo!!. We'd like to try Kouzzina(Boardwalk), Beaches and Cream(Beach Club) and Kona(Poly) as we heard they are good too. The kids and I like Whispering Canyon...the food isn't all stellar(ribs were tough), but it's decent and the bottomless milkshakes are yummy...I like it more for a lunch. We like Boatwrights(Pt Orleans Riverside)...we thought it was very good, but a lot of folks don't seem to like it....it's our 'hidden gem'. My inlaws stay at SSR all the time and have done the Turf Club a couple times and they don't like it...I dunno...I considered trying it this Christmas, but SIL said "no"(we're doing a big family trip at Xmas). There are also some choices at DTD...the only one we've done that's on the DDP is Cap-N-Jacks and that was bleh(like Red Lobster). We'd like to try Raglan Road and maybe Planet Hollywood. My inlaws did the Grand Floridian Cafe and loved that...it's their 'hidden gem' If you've done Boma and some of these others...maybe try something new. Maybe choose a few and post a poll.

Not a fan of Boma. But we are fans of the Turf Club at SSR (service and food were both above acceptable); The Wave, Cape May, and Grand Floridian Cafe are all good but different in what they offer. In DTD, we like Raglan Road and Fulton's (really like Fulton's). Good luck.

1 TS places not inside the parks that we like, in order:

Sanaa--Gorgeous restaurant, if you go before dark you get animal views, servers are friendly and helpful
Ragland Road--Decent pub food and live entertainment (except Sundays)
Turf Club--Above average food for a WDW 1 TS, usually pretty quiet, service has always been on the slow side
Wave--Above average food for a WDW 1 TS, usually pretty quiet
Boma--Interesting selection/choices

I would skip Whispering Canyon. After eating at almost every TS at WDW, this one still ranks close to the bottom, along with Kouzzina. The GF Cafe, Cape May, Olivias, Captain's Grille, the Poly places, etc. all rank under those listed above but they are okay.

I didn't really like Boma-didn't love that all the meats had a cinnamony sweet taste. We haven't tried WCC.

I loved Cape May Clambake-we've gone there for breakfast a few times and tried dinner last time and loved it-:worship:Oreo bon bons...Yum! My family really liked 1900 Park Fare at GF too. I thought the food was okay but the characters are fantastic!!! Really fun!!

Kona is great too-my favorite here is breakfast though not really worth the ddp but dinner is very good too:thumbsup2
