Barb45 - I saw that you asked about the summers in Florida. I assume that you are talking about Orlando (or maybe you are talking about Vero Beach, in which case I can't answer your question). In regards to summer weather, I too live in Windsor, and summer in Orlando is just like it is here and in Detroit, MI for that matter - hot, humid and sticky!! I have tons of allergies/asthma and I find that Orlando air is just as polluted as our air here in Windsor so for me, things are about the same when we vacation every summer to Orlando because of the pollution and humidity.

Congratulations floridafam! That is great news!

Since you were first, when is the barbecue?

We will be in VB from mid-Oct to early Dec (we ski), then early March to June 1. However, we are in south Vero, almost as far as it can be from the Sebastian line. We look forward to the day we are there long enough to qualify for FL resident descounts on season passes, etc. Just two hours up the road....

By the way, we have attended the annual holiday concert at the Sebastian High School and I was very impressed by the school, the instructors, and the students. I understand your wanting your children in that school system.

Congrats Floridafam...welcome to the area!!! Another Michigander moved south here and you will love the winters down here. It is so nice to not have to drive on snow and ice.

I also wanted to get a job at WDW and DH is afraid it will ruin the Magic. I don't think it will but so far I haven't called the jobline. Not sure whats holding me back. Your kids will love being so close to Disney. They are very lucky!!

Just saw this post. What exciting news!

I hope the transition all goes well for you and your family.

My son is moving to East L. Aug 21.

DD and I are going to Perido Key/Sandestin in two weeks. I can hardly wait. Are you still going to the Seaside area then later this year?

Aug. 21 is probably right around the day we are moving.

Does your son need anything household wise? We have to leave a lot here. We are just going to buy different furniture when we get to Florida.

Yes, we are still going to the Panhandle later this year for Ironman Florida. Now we won't have to take such a long vacation as we will already be in Florida.

Honestly, let me know if he could use anything. We only live about 2 blocks from campus.
