We stayed 3 WONDERFUL nights at the Polynesian Resort this past week, and had the BEST time!!! What a wonderful and relaxing place! The Castmembers were so friendly and accomodating and really made you feel like part of the family ('OHANA!) We checked in on Sunday, in time to go to Early Entry at the Magic Kingdom. When we arrived back our room was ready, but we were told to come and exchange our keys as they had put us in a different room. Our room was 3813 in Roratonga, and it was our 13th Aniversary--- what attention to detail! We had asked for a garden view room, but please not to overlook the monorail, and we had a 3rd floor room, w/ balcony, overlooking the quiet pool. That night when we came back from Downtown Disney, we had a personalized autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie waiting for us.

The pool and the beach were fantastic. I spent a few hours lying in a hammock on the beach reading a book on Monday. The breeze was blowing, and it couldn't have been any better if we had been on a tropical island. The pool was warm and beautiful, although the slide was a little rough on the backside..lol!

Dinner at the Kona Cafe was fantastic. I highly recommend the Teriyaki Steak! The bartenders at the Tambu Lounge were great, as well. The Tradewinds is fantastic! The grounds are wonderfully maintained and the flora and fauna is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot say enough about the boat and monorail system from this resort! The convenience just can't be beat!

I am afraid staying at the Polynesian may have spoiled us for any of the other resorts!

We'll be there in 24 days!!!I'm so glad you posted. It's really making me glad that I chose the Poly to take my family to. So glad you had a great time. We're staying in Tokelau. Hope its as nice as they say. Thanks again for posting.

I can't wait.....I am taking my DH for his first trip. I "grew up" at poly. but, Being a budget minded married woman, DH and I usually go moderate, but we are splurging this time, celebrating my nursing school graduation, and boy reading your post gets me stoked for sure!:Pinkbounc

I am afraid we are never going moderate again after this trip!

Glad you had a great time. We are headed there for the first time on 11/28. Can't wait for that. I actually asked for a monorail view because when we were there in 7/03 the kids loved the monorail. I hope that isn't a bad choice. Thanks for the review.

The Polynesian is our favorite resort, we have stayed other places including BCV where we own DVC points, but we all agree there is something so special about the Polynesian.

Glad you had a great time!!

Just curious

Is Roratonga the building to the right of GCC if facing the GCC from the monrail?

Thanks

Michele

Yeah!

I'm so glad you loved the Poly! We can't wait to be back there in 12 days! WooHoo!

I have my family and friends (11 people) booked for the Poly in early December and it is great to hear such positive feedback about that resort. It is also my DD's 3rd b-day. Thanks for the information and detail.

If you are looking at the Great Ceremonial House from the Volcano Pool, it is the building on the left hand side (the side closer to the Ticket and Transportation Center).
