I can't believe my eyes. When I left work for lunch this afternoon, the gas prices shocked me! I saw the sign say $1.89.........thought I was seeing things...........looked again, and sure enough the sign did say $1.89.

WOW ~ I sure am excited over this!!!!!!! Hope it stays like that for a while!!!

Here in CT gas is still well over $2. I saw $2.39 per gallon for regular in Greenwich (very posh area near NY) this morning. But we pay a high gas tax because we do not have any toll roads.

Oh you poor old things. We, in england, are paying the equivalant of around $6 per gallon at the moment for gas!!!!!!

ARE YOU JOKING??? That is horrid! I live over 20 miles to the nearest grocery store, Walmart, and things like that, 8 miles from my kids school and about 6 miles from church..... almost impossible for me to walk places, but I sure would think about it at $6/gallon for gas!!..............P

Unfortunately it's not. I was just reading the Yahoo news stating that Iraqis are paying .20 cents a gallon due to American subsidies while we're paying over $2 a gallon, and that the Brits are paying about $5-6 per gallon.

We are used to it. We've been paying inflated prices for years now. It doesnt seem to stop people using their cars. It didnt go up suddenly, but penny by penny and in the end you just accept that you need a mortgage every time you fill the tank up.

We love coming over to the US and filling up our hire car for what seems pennies.

I paid $1.99 for "full" serve today, that is the cheapest it has been for at least a month. DH's company pays for all his gas which is nice because he drives a full sized cargo van. I hope it drops back down to the $1.50 range or less someday. At least I don't work so I can usually go 3 weeks between fill ups.
