So, yesterday I had an appt with my counselor to discuss medical schools. Well while I was in there, she told me that if I take 19 credit hours (thats alot btw) then I have a great potential to graduate a semester early! How amazing is that????

What that would do is give me to time to get me prepared for the MCATs without the stress of other classes.

I think I'm going to do it!:yay:

AHHHHHH!!! :teeth:

Wow! I think I'd kill myself with 19 hours :rotfl: Graduating a semester early would totally be worth it though.

Good luck :)

19 hours!? Holy moly, that is a lot! If you can do it, I think that is really great! Don't kill yourself for it though.

all depends on what classes make up those 19 credit hours ... ;)
thats what i was going to say.

what classes do you need to take? do you think you can pile the extra on and still maintain your gpa?

19 hours is a lot! I would totally go for it though! It would be awesome and very rewarding to graduate a semester early!

wow! thats really cool.

but can you handle the 19 hours & all of your other classes ?

After I finish this year, I only need Micro-bio II which is a strict lecture class (will have already taken the lab in the spring. I'm in I now) and then 1 more semester of spanish (which I can't fit in this spring), a linear algebra class (i'm not taking a math right now, and I'm kicking myself for it) and then 3 'extra' classes. (cant remember the exact name right now).

So, yeah, it definitely is a ton, but my counselor is very willing to work with me in everything, and if some reason it gets totally overwhelming I can drop some and pick them back up if need be.

But as of right now, I have said yes. My dad is all for it, and my mom thinks I'm nuts.

I think you're nuts, too. :p 3 electives, PLUS a language, PLUS an algebra, PLUS a science class. That's so much. The algebra should be a breeze, and it depends on what your electives are (if they're tough lecture classes or just fluff), but that just seems like so much work. Definitely do it if you think you can, but is there anyway you could do some of it in the summer?

Congrats on being so close to graduation though!

I'm doing 3 fluff classes for electives. One is swahili dance that is 1x/week for an hour. I have a couple of friends doing that too. I haven't decided yet on the other 2.

And I may do my micro II over the summer. First session. Hmm, haven't thought about that.
Thanks Jenny!!

I cannot even imagine 19 hours lol. I have 18 credits now (max. at my school) and I want to go berserk. I'm trying to decide between 13 and 16 next semester haha. 13 would be a really nice change of pace, but I'm not sure if I'd rather have that slower semester this year or next. Just a matter of when the credits are taken. Although at the rate I'm going, I think a break in the spring would be just what I need !:sad2:

No problem Emily. Good luck with whatever you decide! (Btw, swahili dance sounds amazing. You're lucky to have that as an elective option!)

Courtney, you sound so stressed out! I've noticed on some other threads how much work you're doing right now, it's crazy! I'm taking 15 credits, and sometimes I feel like my brain is going to burst. 18 is max at our school, and you even have to get special permission for that many.

Yeah, if I do the micro class then, I'll be down to I think 17 units for next fall.

DBF will be here all summer doing an internship with my school, so it won't be too miserable.
