"Oh...look...another cupcake." A Nov/Dec Birthday Trip Report

Great pictures from Harry Potter. I've been wanting to see some actual pictures, so this is great.

Loving all the Harry Potter World photos :thumbsup2

How much was it for the wands you purchased? My little sister really wants one so may consider getting one for her.

It's a shame you guys were not blown away by The Three Broomsticks - you'd think someone would be able to cast a spell in that place to make the food taste like it was out of this world! :lmao:

:rotfl:
The wands were about $30 each.

Glad that i'm not the only one who talked about universal on there trip report, I am a big harry potter nerd so obviously this was a must do! I have never been to the universal studios park but i had been to islands of adventure once before this trip. I'm glad you seemed to have a good experience with universal. My mom and I both decided we enjoyed Harry Potter Land but not the whole universal area. I noticed you said in your trip report that you wanted to do forbidden journey again but the line was too long. My mom and I found out that they had a single rider line early on in the day so we went through the main line once and then did several more rides through single rider. It was very helpful for us. We also discovered that you can just sneak through the gift shop and go through the locker rooms and enter either the main line or the single rider line from there. It would probably save about a half hour of your time.

oh and another tip for next time, the Frozen Butterbeer is sooooo much better than the real butterbeer! Hope you find these tips helpful :)

Fantastic TR so far!!!! Love all the HP pictures! That's what I'm most excited about for my upcoming trip.

Also love the Burn Notice poster picture -- that's totally something I would do.

Can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2

After breakfast we decided to do the shopping in WWoHP so we wouldn't have to go back there when it got busy. We made a quick stop at Gringott's (the atm) so Mom could tell people she got money from the wizard bank.

After that Jodi bought a hoodie and I bought a couple postcards. We stopped at the owl post to have them stamped.

For our last stop at WWoHP we headed to Honeyduke's!

We bought some chocolate frogs, Bertie Bott's every flavor beans, 2 glass candy jars, and some fudge to have during the week. We also bought a cauldron cake to split. We stopped at the butterbeer cart and got 2 frozen butterbeers to have while we split the cauldron cake. We all really liked the frozen butterbeer.
We took a quick picture of the Hogwart's Express on our way out.
OrlandaVacation218.jpg

We walked through Seuss Landing, but decided we didn't really want to ride anything there.

After catching the first showing of Poseidon's Journey, we headed over to the Jurassic Park River Adventure.

OrlandoVacationJodi137.jpg

Jason, Jodi, and I rode it first. Then Jason and I talked Mom into riding it. She really liked it!

We decided to head over to Mythos for lunch as we had heard some really great things about it.

The food was pretty good, but the service we had wasn't.
After lunch we went to Marvel Island. Mom waited on a bench and ended up seeing some superheros while we rode Spiderman and the Hulk. (Yes, even Jodi rode the Hulk, but she kept her eyes closed the whole time.)

For our last stop of the day we headed over to Toon Lagoon. We had decided to save the water rides for last so that we could head straight back to the hotel afterwards.

OrlandoVacationJodi148.jpg

We rode the ripsaw falls.
OrlandoVacationJodi163.jpg

Then Jodi and I rode the bilge rat barge's twice. The first time with Mom and the second time with Jason. We always split up on the water rides so our stuff wouldn't get wet.
OrlandoVacationJodi167.jpg

We took a water taxi back to the Hard Rock. Mom and Jason decided to take a nap, while Jodi and I went down to the pool. After about an hour they met up with us at the hot tub. We had dinner and drinks at the Beach Bar. We were all tired so we headed up to the room and got everything ready for check out the next morning. We laid down and were planning on watching some tv, but we ended up all falling asleep a little after 7:00.

Up Next: Busch Gardens and checking in to the Contemporary

Yea, we all agree with you! We had the frozen butterbeer and I don't think I'd ever get the regular again...

What a great TR! You all look like you're having so much fun! I love US and the resorts there are sooo nice!

Love that you were able to get your postcards stamped at the owl post - how cool! :cool1:

Am really looking forward to visiting Honeydukes on our trip - my only worry is that I will want to buy one of everything available! Thanks for your review of Mythos as we are considering eating there - it's a shame the service didn't match the food on offer.

Looking forward to hearing about the Contemporary and your thoughts on the resort :thumbsup2

We really had to control ourselves at Honeyduke's! :lmao: Everything looks so good there.

ikr!? I don't know what it was about that beverage but the taste was so different. Even if it were cold out I would still get the frozen butterbeer (I'm from chicago so my cold tolerance isn't the highest but it is fairly high up there).
