Oh how it BURNS!!

Arbonne has a baby line that has a great sunscreen. I have reactions to over the counter lotions and this does not bother me. You can get it online @ arbonne dot com.

I'm pretty sensitive, and I always burn.

But then I took advice from many people and got the WalMart "NoAd" brand of sunscreen. Not only did I not burn or react, but I didn't turn pink (somehow I would turn pink without burning, I don't really understand, but maybe it was a skin reaction, hmm). And some won't like this (but I prefer it to turning pink), but I also got the vaguest hint of beige as well. But no burn and no reaction, and no pink.

And it doesn't smell disgusting like most of the high SPF lotions, and it spreads VERY easily.

My suggestion sounds a little silly but I tell this to all of my friends who go on cruises and island vacations, have him go tanning the month before you leave. Or at least a few weeks. Start off at only 3-4 min. (or what the salon suggests) so he can get a base tan. That way when you guys go he wont get burned.

There's also those hats with the flap along the back that keeps the sun off the back of your neck - my son (sometimes) uses it and it works well. I know its not liquid sunscreen but a form of sunscreen nonetheless:thumbsup2

Threads like these make me SO happy to be Greek and Italian, with little Puerto Rican, Greek and Italian boys. :goodvibes

Carry on white-folk. ;) :rotfl:

My kids are allergic to most sunscreens. Coppertone, Banana Boat, etc.

We can only use No-Ad products on them. Walmart does carry it. It is not a Walmart brand though. Many surf shops and outdoor stores carry it as well. You can also get in online. Just do a search.

We use the pink baby formula on them. We also get the sunblock stick for there ears and the more concentrated face block.

Great product...we love it!:thumbsup2

My middle son burns very easily. We buy clear zinc for him to use on his face during the day and colored zinc to use at the beach.

I am not a doctor. But, there seems to be a lot of evidence that this is a very bad idea. Please see this thread:

It also might be worth looking into SPF reflective clothing too. I don't have any, but I hear alot about it here in Texas.

Now this is a great idea!

Try rei.com. They have all sorts of adventure clothing with high SPF ratings. The clothing made for hiking is often very light weight and quick drying. It's perfect for WDW.

DS was allergic to every sun cream we used when he was younger. By the time we were 10 days into a holiday, his skin was cracked and scaly - rather like an alligator! Sensitive, baby, it didn't matter and with blonde hair and very fair skin we had a real problem. A course of roaccutane for acne as a teen made the problem even more difficult. Ultrasun (advertised at the bottom of this page) worked a treat for him and has the added bonus of a once a day application. We all use it now, apply it before we go out and it lasts us all day in the Floridian sun - not a pink bit to be seen. We take care to build up our exposure to the sun as there isn't much opportunity to build up a base tan in Glasgow! :lmao: We have a family history of melanoma and so have to be especially careful but can't recommend Ultrasun highly enough. Good luck with your BF

It would, wouldn't it? Unfortunately he doesn't know. *sigh* He just said he "turned all red and had to take a shower to get it off."

The baby sunscreen is probably a good idea, and it would be funny to make my 6'4" DBF put on sunscreen out of a pretty pink bottle. I'm so mean... :lmao:

Strictly a guess, but it could be zinc. I have a similar reaction to sunscreens with a high zinc content. Never could run around with a white nose the way others did at the beach--zinc!

Absolutely guilty as charged!

A charter member of the burn, peel and freckle club! *LOL*

I have extrodinarly sensitive skin with eczema and am very fair skinned and burn easily. I've found Paula's choice skin care products to be exellent and all completely frangrance free. http://shop.paulaschoice.com/category/sun-care has there sunscreens. They have a pure mineral one if you think he is sensitive to the chemicals in regular sunscreen. I have used the Extra care moisturizing SPF 30+ without irritation and I didn't burn at either Disney in August or Hawaii. I have burned in the past with Neutragena 50 SPF. They also sell sample sizes so you could try it out before you leave for vacation.

I use L'Oreal Umbrelle and buy it from Canada. I have yet to even get a minute amount of color using that stuff walking around all day in the sun, AND, it's the only sunscreen I've ever used that has not caused some sort of breakout or other reaction on my face.
