Oh Great Ball of Epcot, will I still love these people when this trip is over?

Subscribing. Seriously, the funniest trip report I have read yet. I have a mental vision of Repeat in my head that is cracking me up. Please write reports for all your future trips. "Yes Virginia, there is white cheese" HAHAHA

:lmao:omg I am subscribing! And I thought some of my family was nuts. :rotfl:

This report had me laughing so hard that I had to re-read to my husband when he came home from work. :rotfl2:

Great report :thumbsup2

You have a wonderful writing style! The kids keep asking me what's so funny, as I sit at the game table reading your trip report while they watch TV. I can't help but burst out laughing at the images your writing creates in my head. :rotfl:

Thank you all for reading my trip report and for all of your wonderful comments. Enough time as pasted since the trip that I too can now laugh at the situations - for the lack of a better word.

Oh boy!! I started looking for trip reports of big family trips to see if I can get any pointers.... then I found yours:rotfl2: You see, we took a big family trip in 04 and I swore it would NEVER happen again... and then this year the whole family has kind of invited themselves.... they are ALL coming! :scared1:

I have really enjoyed reading your trip report! You are a very entertaining writer!!!

Wow - all of them. Well as I have learned the hard way, large family trips can be both a blessing and a curse. I hope yours turns out to be a blessing.

To my family and group of DIS friends that are following along with our epic adventure, life has gotten in the way of my writing my report, but I will post another segment later this week. Thank you all again for reading and posting such wonderful comments.

Day 8 – Magic Kingdom
Oh Great Ball of Epcot, is there really a muse for gastric distress?
The ball says…better not tell you now.

I was not sure if Ms. Pouts A-lot was still mad from yesterday or what (I didn’t really care) but Geek said she wanted to sleep in so she would meet us later at the park – yea. The rest of us headed to the Magic Kingdom for our ADR at the Crystal Palace. I checked us in and we were seated within 10 minutes.

Over time, we have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here but I have to say that I really prefer the breakfast buffet. There is nothing like a big plate of bacon and puffed French Toast. Except when Piglet is stopping at the table, I feel like I should be hiding the plate of bacon.

As we were leaving the restaurant and heading towards Splash Mountain for fast passes, Grumpy belched, not loud, but loud enough that he was embarrassed that someone might have been able to hear him. After a round of excuse me, he kinda chuckled and said, “You know, I could never belch out loud when I was with my ex-wife”. Really, I replied. He then said, “I am so comfortable and relaxed with you that I’m finally able to be myself - inner gases and all”. To which I replied, “And you think that this is something that I should be proud of”? Oh absolutely he said, you’re my muse. Again, really not something for me to be proud of, think of it, there is some woman out there that is a muse to her husband and he writes beautiful poetry for her, another husband writes romantic music because of his wife, me, am labeled the gastric muse!!!! Really bodily noises are your tribute to me!!!! Yes, darling, that is just how much I love you. Well, could you love me a little less?

We retrieved our fast passes for Splash Mountain and then rode Thunder Mountain, Haunted Manson, and It’s a Small World. Grumpy always feels that the dolls eyes are following him.

Patricia phoned Geek and told him that she was hungry and would be heading to the park soon, but he told her that we had a buffet for breakfast so she might as well grab something at the resort before heading to the Magic Kingdom. Apparently she did not appreciate this because she hung up on him – oh well, we had more important things to do such as use our fast passes for Splash.

After we all got wet, we rode the Pirates of the Caribbean and got fast passes for the Jungle Cruise. While we were waiting for the fast pass time for the JC, we all got Coke Floats from the Aloha Isle and enjoyed them under a shade tree. This was when Repeat made the comment that at one time, we would stay at the park from the time it opened until the time it closed, but we can’t do that on this trip because of the old people. Who are you calling old missy? And what do you know about staying out late, Ms. I Am Forever In College – when was the last time that you got your rump off of your parent’s couch after dark – hhmmm? Oh it’s a throw down; tonight we are going to be the last group out of the park. Needless to say, Grumpy, Geek, Bubba and Pete were throwing eye daggers at Repeat.

Patricia still had not made it to the park and since the dare was now on, we could not go back for an afternoon break. Well, the others stated that they were not part of the throw down and they were entitled to our usual break, so Repeat conceded that it would be ok if we returned to the resort for a swim break. Swim little one, swim; I’ll be resting my feet back in my room. We’ll see who hollers uncle first.

Grumpy and I freshened up and met the others in the parking lot so we could drive back to the transportation center for our ADR at the California Grill and then our late night escapade at the Magic Kingdom.

At one time, the California Grill was a must do for us but lately, we have moved it much lower on the list but Pete and Ms. Pouts A-lot had it on both of their lists so I made our reservation. Since we skipped lunch – well, I’m not sure what Patricia did, our ADR was early so we were seated within 5 minutes or so. Grumpy had the Seared Bison and I had the Oak-Fired Fillet. Normally, Grumpy and I would split a dessert, but there was Lemon Cheesecake on the menu, which I love (I was hoping it was like the one at Citricos) so I told him he was on his own. He ordered the Apple Cobbler. By the way, the cheesecake was delicious.

When Pete and Repeat were ordering their entrées, I waited until the words were out of Repeat’s mouth, I’ll have the same. Pete had ordered the Sweet Potato-Ricotta Tortellini and I just had to ask if she realized that Ricotta was a white cheese!:scared1: This time it was Repeat giving Pete eye daggers. I will say that apparently when a white cheese is hidden within the confines of a sweet potato, it does not trigger a gag reflex from Repeat.

After dinner we strolled through the shops at the Contemporary Resort before taking the walkway to the Magic Kingdom. We rode the train to Mickey’s Toontown and went see Mickey himself. While we were waiting in line, I told Grumpy the story of how Toontown came to be.

My mom, nana, Pete, Repeat, Aunt Kodak and I were visiting the Magic Kingdom on the morning that Mickey’s Birthday Surprise opened in 1988. We were walking down Main Street when we were asked if we would mind walking through Mickey’s House while being filmed by a news crew. We all agreed that it would be fun so off we went. We were introduced to a cast member that would give our group along with another family the tour of Mickey’s house. When we were looking into Mickey’s bedroom, the small child of the other family asked the cast member how come Minnie’s clothes were not hanging in the closet? And the cast member laughed and said that her clothes were in her closet in her own house. But the little boy did not buy that explanation, he said, “Who are you kidding, everyone knows they have been shacking -up for years” (if any of you are the parent’s to this child – I’m sorry, I mean no offense in telling this story but it was too cute of one to pass up).

By the time I completed our blast from the past, we were meeting the Big Cheese himself.

We boarded the train again and got off in Frontierland to see if there were any fast passes for Splash Mountain left and there were so we got those and the wait time for Thunder Mountain was not bad so we rode that before heading to the Country Bears, Mickey’s PhilharMagic and the Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

For some reason, I was thirsty so we all took a snack break at Pinocchio Village Haus. We went and got fast passes for Buzz and then used the passes for Splash. Do you see a pattern here? There is a lot of walking being done and someone was getting a little cranky – call me old. Then basically, we strolled around Tomorrowland for about an hour or so.

Time to steak out a spot for SpectroMagic on Main Street and Ms. Repeat was actually falling asleep so I kept poking her with my elbow, which she did not find amusing. The park was closing after the parade but I was determined to be one of the last ones out. So I took my time taking loads of pictures as the park began to empty. We took an almost private boat ride on the ferry back to the transportation center and I was filled with pride as I looked into Repeat’s sleepy little eyes and stated nanny, nanny boo, boo.:dance3:

We are about the same age. So, I understand the throw down. I knew you would win.

All I can say is - Luv ya man.

I just realized Pete has te same first name as my sis and they are two peas in a pod.:rotfl:

She definitely has the type of personality that takes some getting use to (to which some people never get use to it) and unfortunately Repeat is following in her mother's footstep.

A challenge! I love it!! Of course you would win, no doubt about that. I sure hope she was really tired the next day. You should have woken her up extra early for the morning EMH somewhere, anywhere, just because. :lmao:

I know, I had to win, it was the principal of the thing calling her favorite aunt old.

Just had to say how much I'm enjoying your trip! You have me :rotfl2:!
We're taking 7 with us in December! So 9 total. DB's GF 2 kids should make this interesting since I'm always the youngest! Wish DH luck since its my family. He's told me he'll be at the ESPN club and don't bother looking for him if things go crazy:scared:

I just found this thread this evening, and I have sat here now for an hour reading every word...every so often when I would bust out with a huge guffaw, the Hubs would be, "What the heck are you reading??!!"

"Oh, honey...just be grateful for our own family," I would reply.

Too, too funny...is there more? Is there more?

Please, oh please?

Welcome to my report - I wish you both luck - I love WDW in December, the parks are just beautiful. We have never traveled with Grumpy's family I think he uses traveling with mine as a bargaining chip for later; such as, what do you mean I can't buy a new boat but I had to travel to WDW with your family? Spending that amount of time with Pete and Ms. Pouts A-lot should have earned me enough points to buy a yacht. You're right, see ya at the marina.

That sounds delicious!

It was delicious - the flavor was wonderful.

By the way, I read your latest installment of your report and I know how painful karma bites can be plus you got yours in one of the most embarrassing areas to scratch in public.

Welcome to my report and thank you for reading. I know what you mean, nothing like viewing life through someone else's family to make you appreciate your own.
