We had to cancel our trip in September due to some not-so-great reasons (even after receiving the FD PIN before it became public for our September trip). And, this trip is insanely special/important to us (more in my PTR), so we went ahead and re-booked for December, even though we knew without another deal, we'd have to cancel again.
I've played on the website with 8 email addys. My mom just applied for the Chase card (got it in the mail yesterday), and DH applied at the same time too in hopes of getting a discount through that.
Well, my mom called me yesterday to ask me to activate her new Chase account online, so I got that set up for her on my lunch. I sent DH an email that if he got his card when checking the mail on his way to work, call me with the number and I'd set up his online account, too.
He calls me on his way to work and says "Write this down." I did as he requested figuring he'd received his card as well, and then started counting the numbers, when I quickly realized there were too many to be a credit card number.
So I asked him "WTH is this??" And he, so excitedly proud of himself, screamed in to the phone "IT'S THE FREE DINING PIN I JUST GOT IN MY EMAIL FOR DECEMBER!!!!" (Really, he's gloating now that he got the deal we wanted, and I didn't.)
DH has been to WDW twice - once when he was too young to remember it, and the other being our honeymoon last year. He's so hooked and listens to me speak Disney all the time (bless his heart!) But, I really thought he was kidding and threatened him within an inch of his life that if this was a joke, he'd better not come home tonight.
He told me to check his email, and voila, there it was! Applied it to our ressie last night (4 adults - 2 rooms) and saved over $1,000.00!!!!

I will say that I am even more confused about the PIN system, too.
1.) DH ended up getting two PINs at two email accounts at the same time. But, neither of those accounts are email addresses that I have taken the time to go on the WDW site, create, and save vacations. They were completely random; I still haven't gotten anything at the email addresses where I've tried the planning fake trips tip.
2.) That website that has been posted on here to check for PINs...well, if it tells you there is nothing found, don't get your hopes up. I actually checked it right after DH got the PINs (before I spoke with him), and none of our names pulled up. I've even checked it a few times last night and this morning to see if it showed his PINs, and it didn't. I'm not sure why it has seemed to work for some, but it definitely didn't for us. So if nothing shows up on that, don't get your hopes up!!
