Oh Come All Ye Faithful... DIS TR Addicts... UPDATE 4/19

Great update Christine!! Love the pics from Morocco, now something more has been added for my next trip!:thumbsup2 It's really beautiful back there, isn't it? With my next trip being an all adult trip, I think it will be fun to explore the places the kids wouldn't be so patient for, great pics!!:thumbsup2

Never ventured through Morocco. I've seen lots of great photos on other peoples trip reports and I'm obviously missing out. Must check it out next time.

In regards to different angles of your pictures, all pictures of disney trips count. You know you've become a die-hard when one angle of something is not enough. Keep those angles coming!:goodvibes

Oh, I think you will like it! Put it on your list!! Glad you like all the angles! You are right... I definitely qualify as a die-hard! :rotfl:

Oh I love Morocco, it's very pretty! Well...at least the Epcot version! I've never seen the real one! :) The intricacies of the designs never cease to amaze me!

I was very impressed with the details and as I think I mentioned before I was just amazed that I was still finding new things to see and explore after so many trips. I loved it!!!

Meandering around World Showcase is probably an adult activity. Preferably with an adult beverage in hand... :rolleyes1: Although I'm hearing great things about the Kim Possible adventure to keep kids occupied. I think I want to play in Sept! ::yes::

ooohhhh I wanna play too...it sounds like fun!

So where did I leave you? Ah yes, meandering around World Showcase. I still had more time before dinner so I continued meandering. I believe I got a bellini at the stand outside of Italy. Yum-o. Now I have a confession of sorts. Over my last two visits I would not be exaggerating to say I’ve been stopped at least 10 times with someone asking me either “where did you get that?” or “what is that?” pointing to my drink. Which might lead one to believe: a)I always have a drink in my hand; b) I have very good taste in adult beverages; c) everyone else is just wishing they were drinking or d) all of the above. You decide. ;)

So I continued my meandering. Went into Japan. One of the new things I noticed and fascinated myself with this trip was all the different roof lines around World Showcase. No detail too small! I love that big department store. I could browse there for ages. So many interesting things. I was tempted by quite a few things. And I believe I did make a purchase... that will have to wait for the souvenir post--- less b/c of a desire to create suspense and more b/c I am currently too lazy to take a picture!

The American Adventure. I didn't go in to see the show this time but I love it. And just about always get teary. I'm patriotic... who knew?

These guys (and gals) were quite good!

DSC00780.jpg

The Christmas tree in front of the American pavilion was beautiful.

A hidden Mickey. I wasn’t even looking for it but somehow this just caught my eye. I know it’s pretty obvious, but I was so impressed with myself!

DSC00781.jpg

Italy- one of my favorite pavilions. I loved seeing all the different holiday decorations.

DSC00784-1.jpg

Not sure why I took this. I think I was just noticing the detail on the wall that made the building look aged.

DSC00787.jpg

I’m not sure at what point in the afternoon this was. But this was the standby line forming for the Candlelight Processional. It reached from the American pavilion all the way down to Italy! As I said I’m not sure what time it was but I remember thinking two things: 1) how awful to have to get in line so early and 2) thank goodness I purchased the dinner package!

DSC00786.jpg

Also note what everyone is wearing above…. Still quite cold. :cold:

The Germany pavilion also looked beautiful all decorated for Christmas (as if any of the pavilions didn't look good)! First up more roof lines!

I hate to play favorites but I think in terms of holiday decorations, Germany may have been my favorite!!

cont'd in the next post

While meandering, I saw something else I’d never seen before. The drawbridge opened and the Illuminations globe and barges came out into the lagoon. Now, I knew in my head there was a drawbridge but I’ve never really thought about it. It was way cool to see it open! I know… doesn’t take much for a Disney geek!

I told you that I was very into roof lines on this trip. :confused3

Heading toward Norway, some light fixture love for LL.

DSC00801.jpg

I thought this was neat with the two very differently themed light fixtures as one pavilion transitions into the other (again, can you say “Disney geek”???)

DSC00803.jpg

DSC00802-1.jpg

The Stave Church… I still haven’t been in. Not sure why?

DSC00804.jpg

O’Canada (I must have skipped Mexico)

DSC00805.jpg

Got some weird looks leaning over the wall taking this… but I did it for you, the light fixture lovers of the DIS.

And more Canada:

So by this time I thought I’d start heading over to DHS and check out the Boardwalk decorations along the way and maybe check out the Osborne lights before dinner.

The tree out in the “town square” in front of Boardwalk:

And taken from the angle of the big cozy porch overlooking the Boardwalk area. They have tons of chairs set up out there and it looks like a great place to curl up with a book. If only it weren’t so COLD!

DSC00817-1.jpg

And inside the lobby was also gorgeous.

DSC00812.jpg

For some reason I really like the elephant lamp over the mantle. Not that I want one in my house but somehow it works here!

And the “recipe”

Up next: DHS- Osborne lights, dinner at Brown Derby (with food pics!!), and the infamous Toy Story Mania party (finally!!!)

Oh I love World Showcase....I wish I was there now...and I too loved all the Christmas decorations! I also couldn't believe the standby line for Candlelight Processional! I remember walking past one morning at 11am and there was already a line up! That dinner package is a life saver!

Don't worry, you're not the only Disney geek....I got really excited the first time I saw the drawbridge go up! I was just waiting for it to come back down and snapping photos the whole time! The CMs probably thought I was a nutbar! Oh well! :) Geek Power!

Good catch on the hidden mickey.

The christmas decorations look gorgeous.

Good to know. I'm already thinking of some "chapters." I think what is really holding me back is I don't have a good title yet! :rotfl2:
Hehehe. Isn't that always the way? I am already trying to think of a title for my TR.

I loved your update, so full of light fixtures. You got a lot of them or maybe I am just noticing them more and more as my obsession grows.

I can't believe that line!! Yikes. I have to remember to do the Candlelight Package when I finally go on my December trip!!

I love all the angles and close-ups you took of the Christmas decorations all over WS and the Boardwalk. So, so, so, pretty! I also adore that you now seem to be developing a roof line obsession. :rotfl:

I have to comment on this picture. The other day we were driving through our downtown area and were stopped at a red light. Chelsea happened to glance up and notice a building that had the stucco broken away and brickwork revealed. She asked me if I thought they had done that on purpose. Can we all say, "Child of many Disney vacations?" :rotfl:

loved the update C!!

I promise I'll make sure you get inside the Stave Church in Sept!! There's a cool hidden Mickey in there:thumbsup2

Have you come up with a title yet? You have definitely opened my eyes to light fixtures. Which seem to have become the gateway to trash cans and roof lines for me.

I do recommend the dinner package when it comes time for you to do the processional. Easy peasy! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I seem to have spent quite a bit of time in World Showcase... so ironic since I hated it as a teen. There's something about that elephant, isn't there??? :confused3
