Oh Come All Ye Faithful... DIS TR Addicts... UPDATE 4/19

The website is up and running again, but still nothing at AKL for any dates that would work for us :(. Although, Charles and I were talking about some other scenerios. :scared:

Other scenarios? The park hours aren't currently working, I am hoping that means they are putting the May Hours up.

 I have been investigating this $1/night Disney deal. Have you all heard about it? If not, you MUST investigate... not that I want any competition. From what I can tell you have to formulate a strategy, have your dates and credit card info ready and type/click QUICKLY! Good luck!!

I already registered with the site and it has my dates and location already saved LOL...I know imagine if i could get my 3 days for $3...that would be insane LOL!!!!

Good Luck to you too...LOL!!!

Oh and where is the update woman LOL!!!

Yeah, what she said. Other scenarios?

I hope May hours are up for you too, LL!

Coming up soon!

As in love I was with the room and as fascinated as I was with the animals outside of my window (I kept running out every few minutes to find out if they were doing anything new or if anyone else came by!), I did not come all the way to Florida to spend the day in my hotel room. My original plan had called for an afternoon by the pool, however, the weather was definitely not cooperating. Brrrr!!!! :cold:

I think it was maybe around 3-4pm at that point and I knew I was meeting Heather/Circusgirl and her friend Eben at Hollywood Brown Derby for dinner at 7 so I decided I’d head over to Epcot, poke around a bit and then walk over to DHS (I love that path!!!) and maybe check out the Osborne Lights before dinner.

Continuing on my practice of comparing/contrasting the values vs. deluxes, I will say that the bus stop experience is much more pleasant at the deluxes. Covered--in the case of rain or hot sun. And benches. So much better than standing in line in the stanchions.

So off I went to Epcot. I love seeing the different displays at the entrance depending on the time of year you visit.

For those of you lucky enough to be heading to WDW for the Flower and Garden Festival, I heard that the theme for the entrance is going to be the princesses and their princes.

I don’t have any notes from this afternoon so I’m not exactly sure what I did next. I think I might have stopped into the Art of Disney. That same artist who was there in October was there again. I love his paintings. Didn’t get one this time but more b/c I’m running out of wall space and don’t want my entire house to be Disney related vs. not seeing anything I like. I’m tempted to finish my basement just so I can have more wall space!
I think I checked the tips board but standby times were too long to suit me and since I was heading to DHS later, I wasn’t in the market for fast passes. So I headed to World Showcase… my favorite place anyway so no problem there!

Any guesses where I went first? Yep, I think it was France for some champagne. This guy was out. He’s amazing!! How does he do it??

At this point in the update I realize that I have shown you quite a few pictures but really just of 2 things – multiple angles. So I will remind you, some of you (you know who you are) that you wanted to see all 900+ photos. I never said they were 900 unique photos. :rotfl:

Reflecting on this afternoon, I think it was one of my favorites. I just meandered around and spent time noticing so many things that I’d never noticed before. As many times as I have been, I’m still amazed that this can happen. So many details. I’m not sure it’s possible to not see something new every time you go. And that’s just one of the many reasons I love it there!

So what did I see??? Continued in the next post

Morocco. What a beautiful pavilion! The colors, the architecture. You can really get lost in there. I don’t know that I’ve ever ventured all the way back in the pavilion. It wasn’t very crowded and I really got caught up in it and almost forgot where I was! I am so tempted to buy some pottery here and also would love some lanterns—not sure where I’d put them – maybe in my finished basement ;) I can do a whole Disney theme… hmmm….

Lots of light fixture love, coming, up, LL!

The area to the left as you enter the pavilion- I’m not sure I ever went in here!

I never noticed that the tree in the front of the pavilion was bearing fruit!

I spent quite a bit of time here that afternoon and really enjoyed it. So pretty!! I also heard Mo Rockin’. They were pretty good!

Up next- still more meandering and noticing the Disney details. And I promise we're getting to the TSM party!

i love morocco too! i think it's my favorite, with italy and france coming in right behind it. it's just so DIFFERENT from anything in WS. it seems so authentic, although i can't say i've ever been to morocco! i love the mosaic tile work and the little shops and stuff in the back. i wish i was there right now!

Thanks for taking tons of photos in Morocco -- it is definitely my favorite of all the pavillions! It just feels so exotic there!

I wish I was there now too!! i think I have to get some pottery next time I go! I'm sure this is well known but I remember hearing that in the construction of World Showcase the King (is that the term?) of Morocco had his own people consult directly on the building of the pavilion so it would be accurate. I still haven't eaten there but I hear great things about the counter-service restaurant.

Well I took them all for you! ;) Seriously, though, I did think of you as I was meandering around and remembered how much you liked it. Now if only it was warmer I could have gotten one of those tangerine daquiris and it would have been perfection! ;)

Your pictures are yet another reminder that I never take the time to explore WS. That's going on my list of things to do for sure!

yeah, i heard that too. i want to eat at the CS there (tangerine cafe, i think) but it always seems i'm never in WS around lunch time. and if i am i have an ADR somewhere else. i have had the pistachio baklava from there and it is AWESOME!

I think the Morocco light fixtures are some of my favorite. I have a lot of pictures of those ones, they just seem really neat to me. You are so good to me taking so many light pictures! :goodvibes We noticed that there was a tree bearing fruit too, it was neat and a nice little surprise.

C it amazes me how much we both noticed this trip. I had a great time exploring Morocco and I really thought it was a beautiful pavillion and I did notice the fruit tree LOL!! And the light fixtures oh the beautiful light fixtures there!

Man I love your pictures they are amazing!! I'm going to have to get tips from you one of these days LOL

I love the topiaries...I remember my trip back to Flower and Garden in 2005 and it was just amazing!!!!

Thank you for such a great update!!! It was well worth the wait!!! I guess this means I'd better go make good on my deal now!!!

what fabulous details you have captured in your shots!! thanks for sharing
looking forward to more

I'm all caught up on your TR - the MouseFest meets sound like so much fun, I'm really looking forward to December when we go!!

I think I might be convinced on Hollywood Brown Derby as well - every review I have ever read is superb, and that Cobb Salad sounds SO good.

YAY for making it to AKL, so pretty!! And an upgrade!!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about the cold weather though, that stinks. Hopefully it will get warmer for you.

One of my favorite parts of the Segway tour of WS was riding all around in Morocco. I wanted to shop as I glided by all the cool lamps and clothes!

Okay, you may think you posted too many pictures of in front of Spaceship Earth, but I love it! You know, I never got to the front of the park in December, so I never saw those cute decorations. Thank you! :goodvibes

Definitely put it on your list! There's so much to see there. So ironic considering I can still remember being a surly teen and sighing loudly and dramatically when my mom insisted we visit all the countries and see all the movies.

I am anxious to eat there too! I've had the tangerine daquiri (big surprise!)but want to try the food too!

what a great room!! I love AKL!

Thanks. Me too. It's a great resort!!

Here I was thinking I was so unique noticing the fruit tree. :upsidedow

Ahem. Yes. Your deal. About that. I seem to have missed your update... ;) Just kidding!!!

what fabulous details you have captured in your shots!! thanks for sharing

Thanks. What I really loved about this trip was I'd been there in Oct and knew I'd be back so I could just slow down and relax and not be in a race to do everything.

Oh it does get warmer.... on the day I left. :sad2:

You should definitely try Brown Derby. SO yummy.

One of my favorite parts of the Segway tour of WS was riding all around in Morocco. I wanted to shop as I glided by all the cool lamps and clothes!

I saw some folks on the Segway tour this time. Looks super fun. I am not blessed with coordination or balance so not sure it's a good idea for me but it does look cool!

Thanks! I'm so glad I didn't bore you!! That's the thing about staying in the Boardwalk area... you don't really need to go to the front of the park!!

Never ventured through Morocco. I've seen lots of great photos on other peoples trip reports and I'm obviously missing out. Must check it out next time.

In regards to different angles of your pictures, all pictures of disney trips count. You know you've become a die-hard when one angle of something is not enough. Keep those angles coming!:goodvibes

Oh I love Morocco, it's very pretty! Well...at least the Epcot version! I've never seen the real one! :) The intricacies of the designs never cease to amaze me!
