I remember someone on here complaining that the Oh Canada 360 film was way outdated and an embarrassment. We just got back and I saw the film for the first time in a zillion years (okay not quite that long but at least 10).

I was prepared for the worst and then pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure what part of Canada the other person was from but I pretty much saw "my" Canada up there on the screen. Aside from a few shots where people's outfits were outdated or if you're into skiing you may have noticed "old" style skis and no snowboards, nothing I saw was so outrageous to warrant an all out panic that Disney needs to spend another zillion $ to go update the film. Just one of those things where I went :confused3 no biggie.

I did hear some Americans making fun of Canadians with the "eh" and saying we say "I'm here on holideh". Truthfully I think it's more the British that say "we're on holiday". No? I say "I'm on vacation!" Anyway my DH proceeded to make fun of the Americans when he went into the UK to buy some tea. He asked if they still had the tea making seminar. When they lady replied yes he said "Good! Someone's gotta show these Americans how to make a decent cup of tea!" She giggled then said (politically) "yes, but they do know their coffee." He replied "I don't do coffee." Poor guy had to wait till we got home for his tea. In a restaurant it's ok but out in counter service land a decent cup of tea is not easily attainable.
Me? I do coffee so I was good ;) :rotfl2:

Personally, I don't like either coffee or tea, but I love those pint bottles of Nestle's chocolate milk! :teeth:

I think the movies in France and Norway are also quite old, but I still enjoy them.

Hey, my wife makes a great cup of tea - as long as you like it ICED. :goodvibes
She's from South Carolina. Up in Boston, where I'm originally from we seemed to enjoy Iced Coffee alot more than Iced Tea.
As for the hot stuff, I really couldn't tell you, I don't like either coffee or tea.
We will be heading back to WDW in Dec (2007) and we look forward to watching the Oh, Canada movie once again.

Tea seminars? I didn't know about that. Where would I find info, cause I just have to have my tea! The UK is my favorite place in the WSC. The last time I went (in 93) I practically spent all day just in the UK.

5 days & counting!! :woohoo: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

I don't see the problem as the film being old. I would like the films to be updated because I want to see what new things have been going on in Canada, or France, or Norway. China updated theirs, why not the rest. I do like the film in Canada and will see it this December again.

As for TEA, the drink of Champions, I have noticed something at EPCOT. The iced tea they serve in Canada tastes pretty standard (I like my tea unsweet and cold, it is even better un-iced in a cold mug, so it doesn't get deluded). The tea they serve in Morocco and Mexico, while supposedly all made by Disney standards, had a distintive spice taste that I have yet to be able to identify. Has anyone else noted this?

Find Tea Seminars in UK at Epcot. Check your times guide for times.

As for Tea...in Canada - the real one not Disney Epcot ;), tea is tea - hot. Ice-Tea is a different thing altogether and doesn't come with a choice of sweet or not sweet it's always sweet.

Hot tea requires milk not cream or half and half which is what you put in coffee. Also tea with out milk and/or sugar is "clear" and coffee is "black" with nothing in it! Just a little edjebication for ya on tea, eh! :sunny:

:)

Maybe because I've always been a tea drinker, I've really liked Oh Canada, especially the song.

God himself came out of the heavens and spoke out let their be tea. and it arived in the form of Chick-fil-A sweet tea. all others are just abominations.

I have traveled Canada from coast to coast and have relatives who live in multiple provinces of Canada.I think individuals may feel they have seen this same 360 for decades and it should be updated...not to mention the off color spectrum of the film from aging. When you see Canadian company logos which no longer exist, dated clothing, and other objects impacted by technological advances it does not create the true perspective of Canada. A great film 2 decades ago..an OK film today. This is a world showcase and you should present your best image to the world guest at WDW.

Yes, both the Canada and France movies are a little dated, but nothing serious. Just fashion issues, that's it. The beautiful shots of the cities and landscapes are still incredible. They are still worth the time on occassion.

Both DH and his parents say "Holiday" rather than vacation. Canadian born and raised.

I agree, I think the Canada film is still quite nice. Same with France. However, they are 20+ years old so I think Disney could stand to update both of them.
