Oh my goodness, Minky! Sending lots of good thoughts to you and Christian. I'll be up your way on Wednesday, if you need ANYTHING, just send me a pm!
Oh, you are so kind. I think we're okay for now. DD17 is home taking care of her dad tonight. DS24 is going to come over andhelp clear out the dining room to make way for Christian's new sick room.
Oh how awful! He's darn lucky he didn't break his neck if he fell that hard!
Now speaking as a nurse and a mother once he wakes up fully and is stable YOU must go somewhere and get some rest while he is in the hospital being cared for by the medical staff!!! Once you bring him home you will be on 24 hours a day especially if you DH is sick and you for your sake and his you can't afford to start it in a deficit. I know you will want to be there but now is when you will have the opportunity to get some sleep not later.
I am trying to hope that your SIL just didn't grasp what your DH was telling her about your son and hasn't realized how serious it is? otherwise she needs someone to pop her balloon and let her know the world doesn't revolve around her! and a few other words that can't be said here or in polite company.
keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for everything to stay on course and go as smooth as possible.
Now get some rest before he comes home!
I don't know how much rest I can get, really. I mean, I can't just leave him alone in a hospital room. Christian is like a 1 yr old. A big 5'9" 120-lb 1yo---with a broken hip. The nurses don't have time to sit one on one with him (He's not in PICU.) Thankfully, school is out after this week for DD so she will have to pitch in with us(which I know she will do willingly.)
Yikes! Poor guy! Hoping for a speedy and uneventful recovery.
Is this SIL the same one who made you put a rug under his wheelchair or confine him to one room of her house??
This is the one who follows him around sweeping his footprints off the rug--not dirty footprints, just the impressions that your feet make in carpet. And her husband is just as bad, literally walkingaround behind him with a wiping cloth in case he touches something. They deserve each other.

All I can say is KARMA.
Well, I just got done with a visit from CPS. Lucky me. I understand it, truly I do. But you know, it's just not something you wanna have to do. I was very open with her about everything, including the fact that we've been trying diligently to get more resources and ultimately placement. I hate to say it, because I knew it would come to this, but this might actually help our case. I try hard to keep Christian safe, but I can't be by his side 24hrs a day. This happened 15 minutes before Samuel got to my house, while I was cooking dinner
