Oga's reservation for one?

Hi all,
About to head out on my first solo Disneyland trip, and I've been trying to secure an ogas reservation. I've gotten all the other reservations I want through an alert, but no hits for ogas which seemed odd. Yesterday I updated my dining alerts to add parties of 2 alerts instead of just my singles, just to see if it would help and voila, this morning, I got a hit for 2 people at 9am one day of my trip. It's a day I'm planning on starting at DCA so I let it go, but it gave me a chance to play around on the app before it disappeared and there was definitely a res for 2 out there but not for 1.

Should I book a res for 2 if I find one and tell them the second person cancelled last minute? Am I likely to have better luck with walk up since I'm solo and just chance it? Thoughts from other solo travelers appreciated

Thanks!

Yep! Book for 2 and just show up as 1. It's a known thing in the reservation system and it's annoying!
THANK YOU for the tip about 2 for 1 guest issue. I travel solo and honestly didn't realize that could cause reservations to not show up (I'm sure just missed it in other dining posts)

I'll remember to try it next time.

I appreciate this heads up too! I'm going for 3 days in April, the first two days with my mom and the third day solo. And this explains why I was able to get a Oga's reservation for the two of us on Friday, but nothing for my solo day! Now I know!

(The good news is even if I don't get a reservation, I've found it's pretty easy to get squeezed in on the walk-up list if you're a solo act.)

For the most part, it seems like DLR has changed how Oga's handles reservations.

By all accounts, at this point, a "reservation" is for a booth/table. The Walk-Up List is mainly to fill up the bar. I think that's why the Walk-Up List has been more available, and why reservations are more scarce.

I did the "book as 2, check in as 1" reservation last month, and the CM at the front asked if I "still wanted a booth/table". (I never wanted a booth/table, and had never indicated as such.)

I would probably still get a reservation, if only for the guarantee. (And I got to skip the long line out front.) But I think that's why you can't get a 1-person reservation.
