Oga's Cantina

Hi Everyone. We will be traveling as a group of 7 with 3 children (6,5,4). My son, the 6yo, is literally obsessed with Star Wars. I have looked on the menu and it doesn't list much other than drinks for Oga's Cantina. I know most other lounges offer some snack like foods. Does Oga's as well but they just aren't listed online.? I am trying to decide if its worth making a reservation for my son to experience?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We are going for breakfast because in the menu shows cinnamon rolls and also me kind of oatmeal or something. But from everything I’ve read, it is mostly just drinks.

I haven’t been. From what everyone is reporting skip it. Your group is brought in and directed to a specific section, which may be shared w others. You have 45 minutes and don’t wander.

For lunch/dinner the only food offered is the Batuu Bits and Happabore Sampler (charcuterie board), but there is also a jello shot type food/drink that I tried and it is also offered without alcohol. There are other weird drinks that are offered without alcohol.

It is a very fun experience! Try looking at some reviews to see the offerings. Maybe just pop in and order a couple items to share.

We’ve been to GE several times now and this is why we haven’t done it. Our kids don’t want to stand around and watch us drink while they do nothing. Wish this was more of a lounge with small bites than a bar. If we didn’t have the kids I’m sure we’d enjoy it though.

We have done Oga's twice with a 3 and 5 year old and they loved it. We will be going back in a month. Yes, you do just get assigned a spot, yes we had to stand, and yes it is mostly drinks. However, our two loved the music and all the neat stuff around. They could sit beside the table while we finished our drinks and they loved the special drinks for them. We did wander around, just taking turns so we didn't vacate our spot just in case the cast thought we left. it is a fun little experience for Star Wars fans (the 5 year old is.)

We did Oga's once and that was enough for us. It was neat to see, but nothing super special. We had to wait a long time despite having a reservation, so I feel it was a waste of time. We ordered one round of drinks to go and then left.

Nothings really hidden. Just wander around the outpost, making sure to do the full loop. There’s the two rides (though of course you can’t walk onto Rise), marketplace stalls, three stores, two quick service locations, and Oga’s. Within the Droid Depot is the build your own droid, reservation helpful but not always necessary; and there’s the build your own very expensive lightsaber at Savi’s, reservation definitely needed. Lots of details to take in- just have fun looking around. If you’re there primarily for SW and/or have lots of time at HS, using the datapad function on the Disney Play app to explore the outpost is fun.

Plenty of kids enjoy Oga’s. Some don’t. Maybe have just part of the group, including the SW obsessed 6 year old, do Oga’s.

You may want to consider just making a reservation for you and your son if the others don't mind splitting up for 30 minutes or so. The inside is kind of neat and they have some beverages with special effects. It's certainly a place where you could order one drink, see everything and then leave. It does get really crowded in there, so, if the younger children aren't interested, it could get a little uncomfortable for them. We are a party of 3 and we were assigned standing space at the bar. It was cute to see inside, but I felt a bit claustrophobic and was ready to leave very soon after walking in.

I actually like breakfast because we can get coffee and split the cinnamon roll—cheaper than the $15 alcoholic drinks ( that I’m. It a huge fan of), but you still get to experience it. Our 6 year old is excited to get apple juice there too

Oga's is not a restaurant. It's not even a bar. It's a Star Wars themed attraction that happens to offer a decent selection of drinks and a lousy selection of kinda-gross snacks.

It's fun for a limited time, especially if you like to engage the cast and/or strangers in some character play. It's also a great place to pick up a few souvenir glasses.

Don't show up hungry or with sore feet you may end up standing.

Oga's is not a place I would take kids. JMHO. It's crowded (as in "very"), you are escorted to your "spot" to stand. if you leave your spot, they will fill it immediately and you'll be out of luck. Luckily, we were at a high table (no chairs). You will most likely be assigned to a spot with other people and will need to share the table. It is very loud and overwhelming. I'll include a sample of the drinks (non-alcoholic Hyperdrive Punch, Outer Rim and Jedi Mind Trick). I am glad to have done it...once...but like the PP stated, it's just an adult eye-candy thing, not a restaurant.

My 7 year old loved it. He got a carbon freeze. We had fun. We even had to stand at the bar and he thought it was super cool.

My 11-year old LOVED the drink she had with the boba (I am pretty sure it was the Carbon Freeze) and the weird Oga's Obsession jello.

The bartenders led everyone in a drinking song that was super fun, and DJ Rex was also cool. My daughter took my phone and wandered around taking pictures for a few minutes and it wasn't a problem at all.

If you have a Star Wars superfan as a kid, they will probably love it. It's a fun little experience.

It really does not have anything worth eating. That said it is a highly themed attraction with beverages. Everyone has expectations of what they think it should be and some are disappointed and others like it. New flash most bars are crowded and noisy have sticky floors and places where you would not take a kid. This is not the sticky floor college bars but are crowded and noisy. Yes you get put next to strangers. So deal with it as all day at Disney the same things happen. The drinks are fun allibet expensive. My kids of 20 and 23 loves the non alcoholic bubbling drinks. We had fun. You may not. My advice try it and see. Have an open mind. If you don’t like it then leave.

BTW they have to limit time to get people in. We went twice and with a reservation did not wait long. I found 45 minutes about right.

My star wars kids love it, we picked up food on the way in mostly to keep them busy. Take the reservations they are hard to get. You can always change your mind.

We really enjoyed it as did our three kids, 13, 10 and 6! We had a reservation and asked at check in for a booth. We had to wait a little bit but no longer than 15 minutes or so. Maybe we just got lucky?! They sat us with another family of 5, which was fine with us, we are friendly. They weren’t terribly chatty which was fine too. We are big Star Wars fans and had read up on Batuu in the “Black Spire“ book so we were ready to play along. Our waiter was great and very in character. He played around with the teenagers in the other family who didn’t seem too into it which seemed to bring them out of their shells. The drinks were great and lots of fun. I had the Bespin Fizz which is served with dry ice and smokes which my kids thought was all kinds of cool. We had the charcuterie board which was a secret menu item at the time. It was okay, but we wouldn’t get it again. The snacks are only something I would get to see how they do it, but not to satisfy any real hunger. They have the charcuterie board, a snack mix and the jello in a Petri dish that looks interesting (both with and without alcohol). We took turns walking around for a few minutes, no problems there. I would book if it you can and see for yourself! You can always leave sooner than your 45 minutes if it’s not your thing. It very much resembles the cantinas in the movies so a Star Wars fan would likely enjoy it.

I think you should make a reservation just to try it, but some of the pros/cons have been well discussed above. It’s a neat place but the small size, crowded conditions, and minimal to no choice in how you’re seated (or not seated) are more material cons for me

I took my 9 and 5 year old awhile back and were placed at a stand up table with another group. My 9 year old was fine with that, 5 year old had no chance. Too short to be at a stand up table, can’t even see the drinks they bring, too young to sit still. We got a to go drink for me and bailed. So, at least it didn’t cost us much.

I had previously gone during a preview event and loved it so much more when it wasn’t barely able to walk around crowded.

I wish they had made it three times the size.
