OGA's Cantina walk up only starting 08/19

We have reservations for a family trip at the end of September, glad to see those still will be honored! Thanks for the heads up!

Wonder if that will make it easier or harder to get into? Now if only they would make it so you don't have to share a booth.
I would guess their data shows, as the novelty wears off, they are getting an increase in no-shows and late arrivals to reservations.
We had a party of eight last holiday season (Dec 19th-ish) and joined the queue around 5pm via the app and probably waited around 35-45 mins for our booth.

"Joined the queue"? Meaning you made a walk-up reservation? Or you were physically waiting online for 45 min?

I have no strong feelings about this. I've always found it nearly impossible to make a reservation online in advance, but it's always super duper easy to get a walk-up reservation when I wanted to.

I'm sure this won't affect my experience one bit.

We don’t drink so we’ve never been but what’s the latest they allow you to stay? I’ve read that in WDW, they allow reservations up to one hour past park closing., so presumably people are drinking at least 90 minutes past park closing.

Walk-up waitlist through the app
Once you are in Galaxy's Edge you can check Oga's in the Disneyland app for the walk up waitlist. It may not show availability immediately but you can keep refreshing while mulling around Batuu and you will likely land a table that will be available shortly.

Bonus points if you can time it with Smuggler's Run. You can come off the ship just like you docked and walk into the cantina.

Yeah, I know. Hence my question.

Last time we shared a booth and it was horrible. There were already 2 parties (one of 2, one of 3) seated. They were in the middle of the booth. Rather than tell them to shift over, the server had us sit with 2 on one end of the half circle, 1 on the other end, and our last member on a stool in between. It was pointless so we got up and left.

We won't be going back unless as a party of 2.

Our Ogas experience at DL was much better than at WDW. In DL we got a booth to ourselves (party of 4). At WDW we stood up at table in the middle with other people (party of 3).

I was a party of one for my only experience. I was "forced" so far to the end of the bench I could barely reach my drink. I had intended to have 2 drinks but gave up and left after I quickly finished the one. It was NOT fun for me.

People generally don't want to eat/drink with other parties unless it's teppanyaki. I found it strange that they set Oga's up like this. My husband and I have only been once and we had to stand and share our table with another couple. We were right in front of DJ Rex, which was fun, but that was the best thing about the experience.

Standing up at shared tables also happens at DL. All depends on where they stick you. Though usually people with ADRs get booths and walk-ins get standup spots.

We were ADR at both experiences. I hope if they are doing this due to demand waning then I hope people can get their own tables.

Not sure what this means, but apparently it's good that I'm not interested in DCL, lol. I went on cruises as a child and was fine with dining with other groups; I know that's a cruise thing.

It’s the last mainstream cruise line that forces you to sit with other people. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had some great times meeting other people but I would prefer not to.
