We've never stayed offsite. We are thinking about driving down and staying offsite but we don't know where!

Any suggestions?

We'll do the Big 4 and maybe Universal this time...

If you want to check out various hotels in the area, a good resource is www.hotelkingdom.com . They have links to pictures and descriptions of the properties, directions, and other handy resources. Their prices are some of the best I've found.

DH & I are staying our first night at Hampton Maingate West, within a mile of WDW, then going to the Poly for the rest of our week with the Mouse.

Last month we stayed at Country Inn and Suites at Calypso Cay in Kissimmee. We loved it. We payed $54. / night for a king suite and that included a breakfast buffet. It is no more that 10 minutes away from all of the Disney parks. It was great! We may be going back in February depending on who will be going at the time. President's week a queen suite is 90/night.

There are so many wonderful looking places to stay offsite I wouldn;t know where to begin. I have only stayed at a couple on our first night arrival and they were fine. The Rennaisance Worldgate was fine. The Rosen Center was great but takes a bit of time when comming and going. I would love to try Tropical Palms. I walked over to look at it and it was neat looking. Only downside ( for some) is there are no phones in the units.

We had a family of 5, and I rented a 2 bedroom townhouse through Skyauction for a total of $265. It had a full kitchen, so we could eat breakfast and have things to pack for lunch at the park.
I also stayed a night a the HJ Enchanted Land. I got a kids min suite for $40. It had a queen and a daybed/micro/fridge. Nothing special but the people running it were very friendly. Also stayed a night at Country Inn and Suites for $35. Same setup except for a sofa bed. Pretty nice breakfast. This was on Apoplecka(something like that) drive. I like to have a frideg and micro, so that is why I chose those places.
If you are going to Universal, AAA has a 3 day pass for $78(adults or kids).
Have a blast!
