Hi (again!!)

Having only every stayed onsite when I've done WDW I have no idea of this, however next year we are looking into a group trip so a villa rental would be ideal.

What area/areas would be best placed (within about 10mins drive) to WDW?

I've done a search online, all say "between 10 -25mins drive" which is a bit of a difference!! So I thought I'd reach out to the experts here to see if anyone knows how to help me :thumbsup2

I don't know the answer but I seem to remember when I looked at a site called All Star Vacation Homes you could pick a specific villa and therefore know exactly what you were booking and where it was located. As I recall they had some really close to the Animal Kingdom area.

Thanks :cool1: I will check them out!!!

Dont mind driving, but not keen on being stuck out miles away!!

Windsor hills,is a fantastic gated villa community.it is one of the closest to Disney & always gets good reviews.
we have stayed there before & would definitely stay there again.
it is also really close to the 192,so you have plenty of places to eat,to choose from & although we have never done it,i'm sure a taxi wouldn't cost too much,if you wanted to have a drink, with your meal.
you won't be disappointed with WH.
tracy x

We have stayed at Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms and Emerald Island, all are in or near te Formosa Garden Area. WH is probably the closest, but not by much. From there you can get to AK car park in under 10 minutes if the lights are with you!

It is an easy drive and there are plenty of places to eat and grocery stores near by.Good luck finding somewhere as my head starts spinning after looking for a while :goodvibes

Has anyone stayed out at Terra Verede resort off Poincianna Blvd. I know its a bit further away, I just wanted to know what it was like as we have never stayed out that side before. We usually stay just off the H27 but we need a bigger villa and would prefer a gated resort. We have the choice of Terra Verde or Emerald Island at the moment but the Terra one has nicer views.

Never stayed at this location, sorry.

We stay at Rolling Hills which is about 10 mins to Disney.

It's a lovely area, mix of residential and rentals and Formosa Gardens is about a mile away.

Using the Sherberth Road shortcut we were parked up at AK in 8 mins from leaving the villa!

We stayed at the Rolling Hills area which is right near Windsor Hills. It was a great location!

Any of the villa communities in the Formosa Gardens area are within a few minutes of WDW (under 10 mins to AK via Sherberth Road) try: www.orlandovillas.com/map.aspx. to get some idea of the situation of the communities. Rolling Hills, Indian Creek, Windsor Palms, Windsor Hills are just some of the communities in this area. We return to one of these year after year as it is so convenient.

We stayed at WH Storytime Kingdom 6bdrm home. It is themed in Disney so you still get the Disney feel. The home was super clean and in great condition(though the carpet was a little worn). We loved the pool and it has 3 master suites and game room. The price was amazing. It was only a mile further from the parks than the value/mod resorts and an easy drive. Thanks to the advice of dis'ers we did valet at CR and were in MK so quick. No transportation to rely on, just drop the car and a quick walk over. It gave us so much space to spread out in and on our down days it was like being at home so gave a little normalcy to our day. When the kids were sleeping for the night the screened in porch was a great place to unwind and have a drink after a long day. Our pool filter went out one day and the owner quickly had someone out and up and running within an hour. Cannot say enough nice things about this place. The resort was clean and quiet it has a big park, waterpark area etc. Lots of resort amenities.

I am so overwhelmed at the sheer choice of accommodation available!!

I think we have found one, its a bit further out at Esprit Estate (around 25mins to Disney) but the price is great and the pictures look lovely. We have been largely driven by the price consciousness of our travel companions, otherwise I saw an amazing villa in the Formosa area which was about £1300 for the 2 weeks :rotfl:

So... still planning for this years trip and now I need to get next years arranged!!

Annual Passes for WDW will need to get sorted when we are there this year, and I think we will get the annual pass for Universal.

Hi how many does it sleep, and can you give a link I am struggling to get what we want at a good price. We usually always book the same one at £350/week but its not big enough for our next trip. thanks

they look good but we need a min of 7 bedrooms for our next trip and its working out very very pricey. My MIL is treating the family:worship: to a big get together next Aug and the total cost is mounting. The fly drive price is already near a small mortgage so I am trying to get the best price I can on a villa for her, without success so far.

You may have to give up the gated resort requirement. I stayed in a non-gated community and felt perfectly safe.

We stayed at Terra Verde last year in a 4 bedroom villa...it was nice enough, the community itself is very peaceful and there is a nice community pool also. I think for 3 weeks we paid around 1700 pounds incl pool heat....TV is about 5min drive from a massive Walmart...and about 10 min to plenty of restaurants...took us about 20min to WDW gates so not too bad and traffic wasnt too bad either
This year we are going to stay a bit closer as we want to just do half park days with rest time due to oldies! So we are staying in a 5 bedroom villa in Sunset Lakes, which is costing around 1800 pounds for 19 nights, again not too bad, looks like less community stuff but we found we didnt really use it anyway
We like the look of windsor hills but it is so much more expensive
The houses on Emerald Island look exactly the same as at Terra Verde (same builder i believe)

Hello
If anyone has any specific questions about rental homes please don't hesitate to PM me. I have stayed at Terra Verde and researched many of these communities. I love staying at Terra Verde!!
