Hello All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been lucky enough to go to Disney world multiple times but this is the first experience offsite. We are staying offsite at the Hilton near DTD for one night before checking in at the poly. We are flying in and taking a shuttle to the hotel. The big question is..how do we get to the poly for check in. We would like to get there in time for rope drop at MK that day which means making it to the hotel by about 7:00a. Can we take a bus from DTD with luggage? That early?

Any info would help. Thanks all.

First, welcome to the DIS boards as a poster!!! Happy to see you here and posting.
Okay...first of all..you aren't allowed to bring luggage on any WDW bus, other than DME. Second of all...there are no buses running from DTD early enough. And third? No buses run from DTD to the parks.

So...having totally burst your balloon, I would recommend getting a cab. That is going to be just about the only way you are going to get to the Polynesian. Get one early enough to get you to the Polynesian to drop your bags and get checked in. Then, either boat or monorail over to MK.

when I need just a one night stay, I tend to book a value resort. That way, I can get DME to my resort, and Disney will move my bags for me the next morning.

I have to agree with goofy4tink. If possible, switch to a Disney value resort for that initial one-night stay. You'll save $$ by using DME from MCO to WDW, and you won't have to spend $$ on a cab to get to the Poly.

Thanks for the replies. Thats what I figured. Since we aren't doing parks the first day, we will probably stay at the DTD and so some shopping that day. Maybe go and roam around some of the disney hotels.

We are thinking of booking a mears towncar. Does anyone have any experience with their towncars? Seem to be reasonably priced.

Cab it. that would be the quickest.

but depending on your rate I would would think about a value resort do DME to value resort. Get on bus to DTD for the night. Then next morning take your stuff to bell services have them transfer to Poly & you go to MK on the bus.

But if you are using Hilton points or got a great rate then stay with hilton

Well. Everyone confirmed what I thought.

Due to the rate we got at the Hilton, we decided to get a town car from the airport to the hotel and then from the Hilton to the Poly. Next time this happens, we'll look at values.

You might be able to rent a car for a day or two for about the same price as your towncar. Price Alamo/National with a pickup at MCO and a return at either the CCC or SoG.
