Offsite: memorable kids restaurants?

Hey folks, I'm bringing my 6 year old daughter to Orlando and would will probably eat offsite one night. Any restaurants that are not too expensive where she might say "that was fun" afterwards or maybe say after we come home "remember that restaurant we went to"?

I know about Jungle Jims (reviews sound bad, though) and Race Rock (might be too boy oriented - we aren't NASCAR people). Also we have Rainforest Cafe near us, so we are pretty familiar with that...

How about a Chinese food restaurant with lots of kitschy Polynesian decor maybe (like there were in the 60s and 70s)... or a restaurant with waiters on rollers skates?? I don't know, just thinking out loud about fun places I remember when I was young....

Any idea or thoughts?

We all went to Jungle Jims twice in the last year. We liked the food and the decor. My daughter loved the little trinkets they leave on the table. Also my guys liked playing the games while we waited. I have also read the reviews but do not agree at all. Thats this board you see all different views. My kids each ate the burger that you get a free one if you can eat it all. They brought the certificates into school and told all there friends about it. For us it was 2 big thumbs up.

Do you want just a meal? Any chance you'd want to try one of the dinner shows? I am sure they would leave an impression. There is Medevial Times, Arabian Nights, and the Pirate Dinner show to name a few. We've also done a very family oriented comedy/magic show at Wonderworks.

What is Jungle Jims?

A fun restaurant--it has a jungle motif, with lots of animal statues and such. They offer something like 30 different types of burgers, as well as other typical "casual dining" food. Lots of specialty drinks, too (the bar area is fairly large).

There used to be several Jungle Jims, but the one across from WDW is the last one standing. Although I generally have had good experiences, if you search the board (or just talk to some of my local friends), you'll hear that service (and cleanliness) there can be spotty.

I try to make it to Jungle Jims every trip. Mainly because there is a coupon for it in the entertainment book. We've always enjoyed it.

Just got back - we ate at Benihana in the Hilton by downtown Disney. The kids had a blast - souvenier cups for their virgin daquiris made of porcelain - very cool :) (they picked lucky cats, but they also have buddhas, umm - like five to pick from - they make nice piggy banks and they were only $5)

Really talented teppanyaki chefs as well - and they had reservations an hour before we wanted to go, so not a huge wait if you call ahead. We valet parked there and it was like $7 (it was raining and we have four small kids, so it was worth it for us on this particular night).

We went to a place called Joe's Crabshack or something like that. It's down the street from the Crossroads plaza. The food was good, the atmosphere, somethimes a little loud but the kids loved it because it had a playground outside with picnic tables

Joe's Crab Shack is on 192 just West of 4 - so from the park you take 4 West to 192 West - it's in the new-ish plaza near the gas station and next to Chick Fil A

Joes Crab Shack is owned by Landry and if you have a Rainforest Cafe Card, you can get discounts at Joe's too. I haven't been to the one there, but I get my discount all the time here. We like the food and half of us love the loud atmosphere. Fun place. Crabcake sandwiches are good, salads huge and I love the coconut shrimp. :bounce:
