Offsite Hotel Shuttle: specifically HI Express and Nick

We are going in Sept. Usually (this trip included) we rent a car and drive to the parks. This time we are thinking at least for MK to use our hotel shuttle. Does anyone have any experience using the shuttle from Holiday Inn Express or Nick Hotel? I know the one at HIEX takes you to Epcot where you can transfer but does anyone know how big of a pain this is and does it get you over to MK before or close to i before the park opening (we get to the parks early to get a good parking spot and to be there for opening time). How about to Universal or Sea WOrld? WE are thinking of using it then also but if we end up driving to the parks, its not a big deal..just wondered at how efficient the shuttles are...TIA
