Please help! We need to find an offsite hotel for our first night, since we will not be arriving until 10:00pm. I have checked out hotelkingdom and found 3 hotels that looked pretty good: Sierra Suites at LBV, Comfort Suites on Major Blvd, and Hampton Inn on I-Drive. It needs to be clean and under $80.00 Any feedback would be appreciated..Thanks..............................

We always stay offsite on our arrival day. I use Priceline and have gotten the Wyndham Orlando resort for $30 a night for two different trips. This is a nice hotel on International Dr. You can get 2 or 1 star hotels for $20 a night, usually.

We have always had great luck using Priceline.

We stayed just around the corner from Universal at Amerisuites for $55 a night through http://www.valuetrips.com

The rate includes free continental breakfast in the morning. It was clean and easy to get to Universal after breakfast.

has anyone used hotwire for a 1st night stay? if so what hotel did you get? Can someone give me the link for the site that lists hotels people have gotten off of hotwire? TIA
Amanda

I would stay at the MircoTel...its a no frills motel. With a great breakfast selection in the morning. I have stayed there for "one night". Its literally across the street from the US/IOA...behind Wet and Wild...and it is CHEAP!!!

JMHO!!!

Hi, Did you mean the Micro Tel? I am not meaning to criticize your spelling! I went to search for that cheap hotel and the only thing I could find close to it was Micro Tel which I found on the web for $49. I actually don't think that's a rock bottom price for a cheap one night, though. I have been checking myself (for July) and have found Days Inn (Orlando) and Rodeway(Irlo Bronson) (with Continental Br.) to be $36.00 each on their website and Red Roof (Kissimmee)to be $31.00 (with fridge). For a cheap one night, I am leaning towards one of these.

If anyone has had experience with any or all of these hotels, I would love to have some information before booking.

cpl what is your date needed? If I take this hotel I will be glad to let you know what it is, and how it was.

Hi Princess. My date is July 18. Please do let me know which hotel you get. Thanks.

You also have a 2 star hotel showing for $28 a night shows a pool and a continental breakfast, mine just shows a pool. I think I may have to bite the bullet and see what happens.

Did you first check out 'packages'? When you do that, it will show the name of the hotel and the amenities icons which you can then compare to the vague description on the regular hotel page for a possible match. When I look at the air/hotel package for my date, the 2 1/2 is Holiday Inn Nicki bird with rest., pool, fitness center and laundry given as amenities.

Ok I did it. I went ahead and took the $28 room for 1 night on june 7th, we only need a place to rest anyways and I got the Fairfiels Inn Orlando International drive. It came to $38.95

8342 Jamaican Ct has anyone stayed here before? I am off to see what I have gotten myself into! LOL at least that will give you an idea cpl.

I haven't stayed there, but I believe that's part of the Mariott chain. I am surprised they charged you $10.95 in fees and taxes, though! I wonder what you would have gotten on Priceline which is usually a bit lower.

The only reason I sugguested the Mirco Tel...(sorry about spelling). Is because I have stayed there and it is clean, and I was not "grossed out" by anything.

I have stayed at alot of Days Inn, and "other" motels...and they have been pretty nasty..., I would just be careful with deposits and such...because what happens when you get there...and the place is downright filtly?

I can only say that the times I have stayed at Mirco Tel...they have been good experiences.

Good Luck

Hi Luvinit,

Thanks for reminding me about the cleanliness aspect. I had not even considered that. I haven't stayed at a Days Inn or Rodeway before but I have stayed at a Red Roof before which was more than adequate. I did hear of other's experience with Days Inn being satisfactory. But I'm sure every location is it's own entity and there certainly is nothing better than knowing someone whose actually stayed at a particular hotel. Each of those I mentioned were given satisfactory reviews in the AAA book, though.

I've reserved a suite at the Homewood Suites - Universal for one night before going on to RPR in July. They are located on Hospitality Way and I was told they opened in May of this year. Has anyone stayed there. Cleanliness is tops on my list along with no gross smells in the room. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)
