We are staying offsite so will make fastpass as we arrive each morning. My question, on the days we plan to park hop, can we be at HS and make late day fastpass for Epcot? If not, what suggestions do you have for being successful in park two?

You will only be able to make FP+ selections for the park that you are in. Depending on the time that you arrive at the second park, you may or may not be able to get FP+ for all of the attractions that you want. It's possible that you may have to settle for TT when you wanted Soarin' for your first tier selection at EPCOT. Or if you arrive really late, Maelstrom may be the only first tier choice left.

I just want to say that although I totally dislike the idea of this new FP+, this forum and the ideas presented on it have significantly reduced my anxiety especially since we are strictly off-site guests. I have been a lurker for the past 3 trips and now during the planning of our next trip in May, but I just felt the need to say thanks to all the valuable info that I found on this forum.

For one, we are off-siter's but I followed the idea of a "throwaway room" so that I could get FP+ for the rest of my trip, magic bands, EMH our first day and as an extra bonus free parking the first day. While this is not truely a "throwaway room" since we will actually be using it (it just will be late night/early morning before we get there) we are forcing ourselves to drive all the way through from NC, when we normally stop around the Jacksonville area. But forcing us to drive just a couple of hours will give us a full day in the parks on our first day. Plus with the spring savings rate the cost of a room at All-Star Movies resort is cheaper than what we would have spent at a Hampton Inn. Financially it was a much better idea to get a room at Disney, plus we get the FP+s for our trip.

Secondly, the tip for scheduling Anna and Elza fastpasses as smaller groups (in this case one person at a time) will be a real big deal. Without it, either I would have to convince my wife to wait in line for hours OR have a very disappointed 7 year old daugher. Was dreading either one of those options.

Third, reinforcing the idea to schedule FP+s in the afternoon and rely on standby in the mornings was a good plan to follow. While I might have thought of this, hearing others plan this way and be successful gave me the feeling that this was a good plan.

Fourth, just being aware of all the fastpass changes (as disturbing as they sound) and being able to make the best out of has been a real piece of mind. This is not counting all the other general info about the parks, resturants and "tips" I have gained over the past couple of years from reading these forums. In particular from our last trip the fact we knew about the first day of ADRs for BOG we were able to get in, while other friends that met us there a couple of days later were bummed because they could not get in. Scored some major points with the wife, since Beauty and the Beast is her fav movie. The kids liked it a lot too.

Thanks to all who contributed! I am actively looking out for the first person indicating that FP are available for the 7DMT ... fingers crossed!

I want to add that if you really, really, REALLY want to ensure that you have your choice of FP+ for EPCOT on your HS morning then you can try this strategy.
  • Park at the HS lot very early but head to the boat or walkway that takes you to the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. There is a FP+ kiosk inside the park entrance.
  • Choose your FP+ for EPCOT using that kiosk and exit the park, returning to HS the way that you came.
  • You will miss the rope drop at HS and this will mean going thru security at both parks. But it will give you the best opportunity to choose your EPCOT times and attractions.

Parking at HS and getting FP's at the Epcot's International Gateway will work. However, be aware that the boat is SLOW and makes several stops. You could hoof it much faster.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I have a question about the "throwaway" room you mentioned. We are in the same situation as you. We are strictly offsite but usually spend the night a few hours out from Orlando. Are you sure you can use FP+ for your entire visit with a one night reservation?

I would like to know the answer to this one too.
