Offsite dining

Now that Disney has raised restaurant prices, DW and I are seriously thinking of cancelling some of our PS's and eating a few dinners offsite (we will have a rental car). I read good things about Pebbles at the Crossroads. Any other suggestions? (We will be staying at POR from 10/27/02 thru 11/02/2002.)

I haven't eaten at Pebbles, but Jungle Jim's also at the Crossroads is good. Bahama Breeze, also on 535 - the road the Crossroads is on- but further down past I-4, is really great. Carrabas and the Macaroni Grill, both on 192, always have good food every time we go. If you want cheaper meals, Sweet Tomatoes, on I-Drive at Kirkman, is a good, cheaper buffet type place. Amigo's on the OBT north of the FL. mall has great Mexican food at a very good price. It is probably the best Mexican I have ever eaten.

Question... How would you get to the Carrabbas from WDW?? If you take World to 192, which way do you go, and how far is it from WDW property? It would be nice to try something else that WDW food once in a while!

We ate at Pebbles in late August and it was excellent. Very nice atmosphere (some of the tables were even set aside and
romantic) though the menu and servers also catered to our kids. I recall 2 people had exvellent and creative dishes made with duck. Nice salads and desserts too. Enjoy!!

We ate at the Carrabbas during our last trip in July. The food was good and the price was reasonable as well. We left Disney World and headed to 192 and went west. It is west of Disney World on 192. I never remember all the street names so I hope this helps.
