I have no clue about these things so I thought I'd ask:

I am jewish and DF is christian. I would like a traditional jewish ceremony, but I know that several rabbis will not do that unless DF converts (which will likely not happen).

-What type of officient will accomodate this? Anyone done this before?
-Also, will Disney supply the chuppah? Do you have to pay extra?

We had Rev Kevin Knox he is great my husband and I are both different religions so needed somebody who could marry both of us without it being too much religion. However although he is a reverend he still can do married ceremonies for different religions, he will even do the smashing of a glass at the end of the ceremony. Disney do supply a chuppah at a fee obviously but this can be arranged.:thumbsup2

I'm from a mixed marriage too (I'm Catholic and DH is Hindu) and had similar concerns for our vow renewal. I found good reviews for Ron Rosenzweig. He's a notary public, so he'll do totally secular ceremonies or ones that have some non-specific spirituality. He seems pretty flexible.

Here's his website: www.wedinorlando.com

Good luck!

Thanks-I'll look into those!

My ideal would be a traditional jewish wedding with chuppah, breaking the glass, prayers, etc... but it's hard to find a rabbi who will honor that when your soon-to-be spouse is not jewish.

Anyone know how much extra the chuppah costs? I'm sure my parents will help pay for that cost.

I can't remember exactly how much our chuppah was - I believe it was in the $800 range. I think you can get it bare bones (Just the wood poles) but we had a white swagging on it - and although it was simple it was beautiful!
They'll also do flowers or anything else you might want on it - but obviously that will raise the price.

A second vote for Ron Rosenzweig. I am Christian and DH is Jewish and we did not want any religious aspects to our ceremony. I'm sure he would be able to give you some suggestions for your situation. If you contact him through his website, he will send you the ceremony text for you to review before you book him. GL!

Try Rabbi Robert Lefkowitz from the Disney recommended officiants he is great and he is marrying my fiance and I even though I am Jewish and he is Christian.

DH is Jewish and I'm not, so we had Rabbi Lefkowitz and Reverend Jack, which was more to make my family comfortable than me. We incorporated traditional Jewish elements for DH (prayers, breaking glass, wine etc) (including the chuppah which was $250) and I wrote the parts for Reverend Jack, which was cool so that both DH and I agreed on those parts and those were the non-religious parts. Neither of them were overwhelmingly religious. If you want to know more or if you want to see a copy of the ceremony, let me know and I'll be happy to send it to you so you can get some ideas
