Daytrip yesterday 8/29--the crowds are gone! Arrived a little after 10 (9am opening) and rode Star Tours after 20 min. wait (30 min posted at entrance.) Stormtroopers were checking passengers at the fastpass entrance. Got Space Mountain fastpasses at 11:30 and the return time was only about 30 min later. 5 min wait for Autopia...Did Tomorrowland in 2 hrs including 45 min in Innoventions.
Walked on to Pirates -- will be our last visit til after the refurb. When we were there a couple weeks ago they had the string line winding back & forth halfway to Haunted Mansion!
Hit the princess jackpot: 2pm caught Alice running through the Mickey/Walt circle (on her way to do Musical Chairs maybe?), then Aurora and Cinderella on the walkway near Plaza Gardens (and found the secret restroom! Peter Pan yelled Hi as he ran through Plaza Gardens!)
Rode everything in Fantasyland from 3-4pm except Dumbo because it was *hot*. Peter Pan wait under 15 min.
If your little girl can wait all day, the princess walk had only 2 families in line around 5:30. Just Ariel & Tiana (usually 3 princesses) -- Belle took off early.
I think some schools don't start til today, so it only gets better from here, but wow! what a difference a week makes! My mom was there last Monday and it was wall to wall people.

Great report. :thumbsup2

Sounded like a fun day....thanks for posting this.

:)

That's what happens when everybody goes back to school. Glad you had a good day.

Glad you had a great day! And amazing character-timing! :cool1:

And an extra note for everyone about the crowds: aliceindisneyland has commented on how low the crowds were yesterday. The first day of the first M-F run when the SCS APs are NOT blocked. So every AP holder on Earth could have been there yesterday and the crowds were very low. THAT'S exactly the reason I try to explain to people here on DIS not to blame the APs for the crowds. The lower APs are unblocked when the Park "needs" them to be there. Yesterday was very minimal crowds - and every type of AP holder was (most likely) present in the Park.

Awesome!!! We were there on Saturday and found the crowds to be nice also (for a Saturday). My kids don't go back to school until the 8th so we have a 2-night trip planned next week (Mon - Wed). I'm hoping we have the same experience with crowds on Tuesday next week :thumbsup2

Nice report, looks like you had a great time! I am going to the parks myself in a couple of weeks and it is the prospect of these low crowd levels which made me choose September. I can not wait :yay:

Yay, only 20 minutes to get onto Star Tours! (This is hard for me to imagine, as last time I was there, the standby wait was over 2 hours :scared1:). That is so cool that they have Star Wars characters out & about now...I hope they're still out in December!

Yipee! 20 more sleeps and we'll be there. We've been watching MouseWait for the last several days to see the crowd levels, lol. 30 minute waits for Star Tours sounds awesome to my daughters....they have already vowed that on the day I don't go with them to the park they're going to ride only Star Tours from opening to closing (except for a break to get a Dole Whip I'm told).

22 more days until we are there! I'm so excited. Glad to hear that Star Tours wait time is reasonable.... and I hope that the characters will be there. My son will flip for that! The whole trip is a surprise that I have kept for 4 months, so I hope I can last 3 more weeks. :cool1:

I was on the fence about going tomorrow, and I think you just talked me into it!

AHHHHH, YOU'RE KILLING ME!...I was hoping to get down to DL for a few days this week cuz I knew it would be lighter crowds and had to put it off due to that dang work thing getting in the way!

...hopefully in a week or two and the crowds will remain light.

Sorry :)

It was a blast (though it always is; even at crazy busy times you get that great energy -- until you get hobbled by a stroller!) I love being able to choose what I want to go on and when instead of crowds & late fastpass return times choosing for me!

This post just put a BIG smile on my face! :thumbsup2
We leave in 2 DAYS!!
I think I'm going to explode from the excitement!!!

That's GREAT to hear! We will be there in exactly one week (OMG I will be AT Club 33 in one week!!!) but we only have one day in the park. We're leaving our daughter with my mom at DTD while we eat lunch and then will get her afterward. I was really concerned since park hours that day at 10-8, but hopefully we'll be able to get some decent rides in with low crowds!

Totally excited to hear this. We'll be going next week. We can't wait!
Glad you had an awesome time! :)
