Officially "Disneyed out"!!!!!!!

I don't go enough to get Disneyed out. On our next trip though, I'm planning special treats for DH and I. Spa treatments at the GF, followed by lunch at Wolfgang Puck's, and then minature golf. We like our "down" days from the park and that's why I always schedule one or two of them.

We go about 4 times a year and just do so much different each time that it never gets boring. I just got back Sunday night for a quick weekend with my 2 kids and my mom, and DH and I have already decided to go back next Thursday for a long weekend without the kids.

Two years ago my family was a little burned out on Disney during our trip. I remember thinking on all the rides that it seemed like we'd already done them at least a zillion times each. So, we skipped the next summer and went on vacation elsewhere and I can tell you we really missed Disney. Last summer we went back and made sure we added things we'd never done before. We even took our first trip to Sea World which was so much fun for us because it was something new and different. This year we'll be going to Universal, we've never been and my boys are so excited. We'll also be doing Hoop De Do for the first time.

I think the key to not getting burned out on Disney is to try and add something new and different each trip, taking a break will help too. Hope you guys have fun on your next trip!:D

I cant fathom that, but then again its been 10yrs since my last trip:eek: , after getting married and having kids this the first time we have had the chance to go. I cannot wait to see my two boys walk down main street for the first time, they are so excited already (I must be rubbing off on them) everytime we go by this radar array near my town they think we are at Epcot( its shaped like Spaceship earth) my oldest goes look dad its disney world!

I could never burn out.

Ever.

The happiest week of my childhood was spent at the Contemporary for 6 glorious nights when I was about 8. I'm not kidding, this was THE happiest I ever was.

I just close my eyes and think about that first trip 20 years ago, and I still get chills.

For me, going to WDW is not just a vacation, it's reliving my childhood. I'd pay double.

I'm going to DLR in two weeks for the first time, and I'm jumping out of my skin, I'm so excited!:hyper: I was just in WDW for 6 nights in May, in FL two more times in 2003, and I can't wait to go back. I'm upset because I know I can't for at least a year or more.

I can see how some might burn out, especially if you've gone 2x a year for several years. But that would never happen to me.

Not me! Disney is one of those places that no matter what is going on in my life it just takes all those thoughts right out of my mind for however long I'm there. Everyone else in my house is burnt out, but not me. I don't think I'll ever get to that point. I am, always have been and probably will be a Disney obsessive! Mom's just told me to come up with a list of suggestions for next years vacation, my last one before college, and I know I'll get a long loud GROAN from everyone in my house but WDW will probably top the list. Particularly since it does not look like I'll be able to convince people to spend a day at WDW while we're in Orlando this year:earseek: .

Okay, I will admit that after this last trip (we returned 1/25), I am Disney'ed out. So is my DH. Our DS, age 10, is not Disney'ed out. We have enjoyed our many trips to WDW, but coming out of taking two trips within a 12 month period has done me in for awhile. I didn't think it could happen. I mean even though we have been quite a few times, we still have not seen all there is to see or do all there is to do or eat all there is to eat! We travel 3-4 times per year, so we haven't only been doing Disney. I bet I'll get the bug again, but for the next couple of years we are moving on to new destinations (Fiji is sounding pretty nice right about now!).

Hi everyone I'm new here at the boards and not very computer savvy but thought I would give it a try. I can't imagine being Disneyed out. We leave in 21 days for OKW, our fifth year in a row. I would go every few months if I could. My husband, friends and coworkers think I am nuts- even if you offer people advice on HOW TO DO DISNEY and fit it all in, they don't want to hear it. Their loss. I wish I could figure out my counter. I'll have to ask DH to look at it later. Also how do you view your posts and replys after?

Have a great day, Linda

Welcome to the boards, momof2minnies! To get your countdown timer, go to the tech support board and look for the thread that says something like "get your countdown timer here." Should be toward the top, or at least on the first page. The directions are pretty straightforward. I'm not sure what you mean by your question about viewing your posts and replies?? If you can clarify it a little, I'll give it a try answering for you. :D

As far as being Disneyed out, nope, not yet. I've been going pretty often the last few years since owning DVC, but I find different things to enjoy and explore every time. I love the resorts just as resorts, even if the parks weren't part of the equation. I also enjoy NOT doing the commando style of park visits as I did for many years. I'm much more relaxed about what I see or don't see at the parks now, since I know I'll be back before long. Makes the vacation much more enjoyable.

I'm not exactly Disneyed out; but I think after our December 2004 trip, we might go somewhere else next year. We used to ski, but we haven't done that since '94!

The funny thing is, Disney is probably actually a cheaper vacation than skiing is for us. We can drive to Disney--we'll need 4 airfares for skiing! Lift tickets aren't cheap, condos aren't cheap, the food isn't cheap either--of course, I'm talking about Vail here!;)

Still, dh has been such a good sport about Disney (he likes it, just not as much as me!), and I think he's really ready to do something different for at least one year. Hopefully after that, we'll be back at Disney for our big yearly vacation (or at least every other year!:teeth: )

if you are going to Vail, let me know and I'll see what local deals there are. We can usually get good prices at places around town for "locals".

After our 17-day total Disney trip in Dec., we were "Disneyed out". Gonna try something new, go somewhere different. And then we got home, and --well, we're planning at least two or three more trips to WDW before my AP expires in December, and a DCL cruise (our fourth, but 7 nights this time) for Feb. , 2005.

We have changed our style, though, now that we're just two adults. We spend more time at the resort, and go to the parks later in the day. It doesn't matter what level resort to us, though. We've tried deluxe, moderate and value, and love them all!

Disney is an exausting vacation. At the end of a trip it is very easy to be "Disneyed" out. But then you get home and forget about all the hassel it is to get to the parks, all the walking, all the PEOPLE.. and you just remember the fun. It's the idea of Disney that makes you forget the bad and want to go back. And sometimes it takes a little time away for you to really want Disney again. I haven't been in a over a year now and I can't WAIT for my WDW honeymoon in Sept.!
