What is the worst location you have had for a resort room?

If you can't find a map, just describe it.

You can google a map if you need to. Just curious! pixiedust:

Here is mine first. I edited it so you can see.

The Country Music building at AS Music! We were 2 doors from the end of the building, on the third floor. They could not have put us farther from the buses! And 2 of the 3 day trip was pouring rain! So every night we had this safari-type TREK from the busses to the room. Not good! It is the only time I did not invest in the refillable mug.

So, if you ever got to AS music and the offer you the Country Building, RUN, don't walk!

Mine was at POR building 36 facing the parking lot. This room was so far from everything. It was the furthest one possible from the main building and food court. It was also between two bus stops. And the busses were full when they got there. Which was difficult since we had a wheelchair and needed the ramp and the middle seats. It ruined our stay there and I'll never go back.

I just looked it up on a map. OH MY GOSH.
That is so far!
:crowded:

I was in this spot but on the exact opposite side. It is a looooong walk!

Especially after a long day of walking around the parks. It feels like all the hallways are the same. Our trick was to keep walking until we couldn't walk anymore

I have some time to kill tonight, so here is a map!

Ok, here's mine, but it's old. When Disney World first opened we stayed at the Contemporary. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the huge parking lot. We had a patio, a little patch of grass and then someone's car. I'm sure they have rearrange the parking lot by now, but that was our room location.

I see you've also stayed at the Coronado. I know people are always complaining about the walking at CSR (it is our favorite resort and we don't mind the walking...plus we rent a car). Out of curiosity, how does the walk you had the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the bus stop compared ot the walking at CSR?

We ended up in the Broadway section of ASMu, when I had paid for a prefered room, and we should have been put in Calypso. The CM said that too many people had decided to extend their vacations, and they can't force them to move. My mom had had some minor surgery done just before the trip, and I was trying to limit her walking as much as possible. I was so NOT a happy camper!:furious:

Thing is, I have read many posts since then about that very same thing happening to others at ASMu. Seems they overbook their prefered rooms accidentally on purpose, and don't give a fig whos vacation they muck up.

My other bad room location was this past October. We stayed at POR and I wanted a room, any room, in the Alligator Bayou section. Denied!:sad2: I love the whole ambiance of the AB section, and am not a fan of the Mansions. This makes me very sad as I love POR as a whole, but I am not happy in the Mansion section. Now if I want to stay at POR again I have to decide if it is worth the chance of being in the Mansion section.

Our worst room ever was a standard view room at AKL. It was on the Ostrich Trail wing but facing the covered entrance. You couldn't really look out and see much of anything, because the thatched room overhung the balcony area. Thus, the room was quite dark. We had added this night onto our trip, so I was so very glad to move to our savanna view room the following day. What an amazing difference some light and a view can make! The layout of our second room was identical, but it felt so much more cheerful and even larger due to the sunlight.

Another really awful room is one looking out on the dumpsters at the WL. We didn't actually stay in one of these rooms, but one of the housekeepers showed it to us.

That's a shame about Movies.

I am facing a similar dilemma a CSR as you are at POR. I have stayed in the Cabanas and only want to go back if to try the Casitas. It's a bummer that Disney cant guarantee "Section" requests, but I can understand how that would be way to difficult to manage.

Worst room/resort ever was at Disney's Hollywood Tower Hotel. Mousekeeping never came around, the electric was faulty and don't even get me started on the elevators. On the plus side, location is everything - Had a fantastic view of Fantasmic every night. I'd stay there again with another 40% off code.
