Official Wine & Dine 2014

All registered for the 1/2. I'm doing the 5k too, but waiting on that, hopefully later rather than sooner w/ Dopey and Avengers opening next week. I can't wait to run this one! I've heard lots of great things about the course.

WDW people ~ Mickey's X-mas Party at MK... what does it entail besides the hot chocolate and parade? And is it worth it? We don't have one (yet) in DL and and thinking about it Fri night if it's happened.

Talked with my sister today and we have decided to run the Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon! This will be both of our first 1/2 marathons and despite her being in Texas and me in Missouri, we've decided to do it together and hold each other accountable! She just had a baby 4 weeks ago and was looking for something fun to keep herself in check and get back to pre-baby shape! I've been running for about 6 months now (but I've been VERY lax about it the last few freezing months!) and have only done a 5k... so this makes me a little nervous, but we can do it!! Thank goodness we have 8 months to train! :)

I'm also excited because my sister really hasn't been to Disney! So our girls trip will be so much fun!!

Hopefully I will be running the Food and Wine this year and I had a question about booking hotels through RunDisney. When you book through them do you have to pay in full at the time of booking or is it just like booking thru Disney and you just have to pay a deposit and pay off the amount a certain number of days before the trip.

The last WDW race I booked through run disney was princess 2012. At that time they just needed a deposit. I think it was 1 night.

The Tink I booked through GET Travel and they just needed 100$ although if you did 1 night deposit you got additional discounts.

Awesome, thanks!

When I booked for TOT it was a package. I had APs so the tickets they used were minigolf tickets. All the same rules for a package, so I had to contact them 45 days out to pay it off, etc.

Does anyone know when the travel side of the rundisney website will be updated with 2014 rates??

I'm assuming when the regular registration opens? I tried to look at ticket prices today and it wasn't loading. Just a guess though!

DH and I are all signed up :cool1:

Now we just need the snow to melt so we can get back to running outside!

Anyone know when they start giving out food and wine festival details, new booths, seminars etc etc. I can't wait to get back down to WDW for this race, it's our favorite time of the year at WDW and such a great race!:thumbsup2

I think July ish. If I recall the schedules are announced then signups for the events happens within the week.

Just back from the mouse today and signed up DD and myself. Can hardly wait.

Hmmm...I'm to impatient to wait. Was hoping to have some idea before Avengers registration opens up. Would really like to do both but budget is priority #1.

Reserve through Central Reservations Office (CRO). While runD travel has a slightly lower rack rate, the terms from CRO are a little better; such as concellation 30 days instead of 45 days, etc. Most importantly, with CRO you can call when/if fall discounts are announced and simply attach the lower rate to your room ressie. rD is not that flexible.

You can lock in the reservation at your preferred 'official' resort today.

Note that a couple years back the runD reservation folks attempted to scare runners into reserving with them stating that you could not board the race bus without a runD reservation. I have not heard that reported in a couple years but that kind of created ill will for those folks. The only thing the rD folks offer that CRO cannot give are free minigolf passes. I can always tell when a big sports event in on property as the minigolf courses are full.

So, Charles, I would most likely be better served by waiting and applying an Annual Passholder discount to my room when it comes out (traditionally these dates do seem to be covered by that discount)?

Also, Perhaps you can help. I plan to have an AP purchased soon but not active until August, If I book through CRO now can I get the updated AP rate and other discounts later?
Thanks!

You can always apply the yet to be announced AP discount to the current reservation... It may/will take some human intervention to make it happen. (I am not sure of how it happens behind the scenes but I have added an AP discount to a ressie where the resort sold out after my original ressie.) I believe that most W&D weekends have been covered under some AP discount. It's also my understanding that your AP has to be active to take advantage of the discount. Though, the 'Joe Public' discounts have been almost as sweet over the last couple years..

This is my first time having a Disney Visa. Is there a discount and where do I place the code on the link provided by PP? I also have an AP but AP doesn't give a discount only early registration, right?

I read on other parts of the net that if one puts the first 4 digits of the Visa card in the 'discount' box you will receive a discount.

Saying that I also am thought in many circles to be a French model

Bonjour

The first 4 worked for me on past races including 2014 ToT, but no luck using it for W&D.

The Disney Visa code would not work for me either - bummer :(

I am in! I'm thinking of signing up for the 5k in the morning too, but not sure yet. Can't wait!!
