Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Saw another picture of the race medals on Facebook from the Paris expo, and they are gorgeous. They look huge.

Awesome! So glad it worked out!
Me too! And I can finally relax about it, because I have the official approval too. The first was just via email, but I needed to get it entered into the absence management website too. Got the approval through there yesterday. :)

Anyone want to talk running outfits. I got a little carried away and now I have three outfits for two races. Haha. I ordered the tanks off of etsy and the leggings from amazon.

First one is this tank. I have a running skirt, red with white polka dots to wear with this.

The second one is this tank. I have a yellow skirt from Sparkle Skirt to wear with this.

Then I had to have this tank because it made me laugh.

I bought these leggings which I will turn into shorts to go with it.

Maybe I need to find a way to run the 5k!
That third tank is brilliant

I am going to spring for the Memory Maker this time. I didn't get it the last time we went but there are more of us going this time, and there is the race so I'm hoping to REALLY get my moneys worth from it!!! Might split the price with my running mate too!
Can you add others in your party (sharing your WDW resort room) to the Memory Maker? That might make it worthwhile to me.

They don't even have to share your room. For runDisney, you can add up to six runners (I believe this is the max) to your Memory Maker by just entering the code from the event guide using their bib numbers. For photos from the parks, you just need to add them as "Friends & Family" to your MDE account.

Soak it all in from the Expo to pre-race to race to post-race & I guess the after party if you go for this one.
Train now so you can enjoy the race.
Wear your medal to the parks after. Get park icon & character photos with it, the characters get into the medals.

Does the ability to add other bib holder apply if your memory maker is from a Passholder Account?

I'm not going to do the 11 mile run today because my left heel/ankle/lower leg muscles aren't happy. I jogged back and forth in the driveway when I got up and it felt ok, not the best but like it would loosen up and be ok. So I ate breakfast and iced it as I have been before bed and in the morning after rolling it. When I got up to start getting ready to run the muscle on the left side, like going up from the knobby ankle bone (can you tell I never took anatomy in hs or college), and the lower part was a bit irritated. I put my shoes back on and jogged in the driveway again and there was a bit more discomfort this time. I'm sure I could have done at least a few miles but I think it may have gotten worse during and it would have been problematic when I was done.

Tuesday I ran a mile on the treadmill and once I started each run interval it loosened up and was fine. Wednesday when I started to run it didn't feel better so I walked a mile and called it a day. Walking feels fine 90% of the time. Thursday I went to the chiropractor and had him check my ankle while I was there and it was fine, so it's just a muscle thing. It's just not one specific muscle and it seems to move around. Sometimes the heel is where it is, or up the left side, rarely up the back of my ankle. But never the muscle I had issue with earlier in the summer.

I'll bump everything and make the 12.5 my longest run. I'm disappointed that I'm not going today t I know it's better to not run and be able to do the half fine plus a week in the parks after. I'll keep stretching and doing what I'm doing and hopefully it'll get better sooner rather than later.

I hope everyone has/had great runs this weekend!

Hope you're feeling better! Some days, it is just best to change plans and take an extra rest day.

Cross training for DW this morning; 5k run on the local track for me. Tomorrow is a long run for me, and a return for running for DW, who's had her own issues with knee pain.

We'll be starting to talk race and vacation outfits this weekend. 6 weeks from today, the 10k will be in the books.

Another long run down once again on the treadmill cause it's hot and there are few places I can run in the early am outside better pace by far then the 17mm 5.75 mile lake 'run' I did a few weeks ago (and by run I mean straight walking cause DSis wanted to gage her pace w/o adding intervals in)

Now to focus on costume making

Thanks! I ordered a new pair of flats for work with arch support so hopefully that will help. I know it will overall though.

@afan have your tried rolling your muscles to work out any tightness. I don't ice as it seems to just lead to tight muscles for me. Rolling has really help my tight calf/shin as well as wearing a compression leg sleeve. But yeah better to not put it today and cause worse damage. One run is never worth it.

@PaDisneyCouple hope your wife's knee pain gets better. 6 weeks!!! woohoo! That means roughly in 3 weeks we start getting our gift cards by mail as it said they mail out 3 weeks before.

@1lilspark yay for the long run

It was very humid on my long run today making me just feel ill, but we're getting a storm now as I type & cool front coming so we're in for true fall temps next week!!!

I stretch and roll almost every night, sometimes sleep wins. It's something I've been doing for years back when running was only on a treadmill for cardio. I have a new area to roll now though. I add new stretches or places to roll as I notice it's a problem or learn about it helping. I've been rolling and stretching my hips and IT band before they were ever problems. I only ice to help with inflamation, it wouldn't be my choice but sometimes heat makes things worse. I know one run isn't worth it but it's still hard to be ok with skipping it even when I know I'm doing the right thing. But that's were the whole running is mental thing comes in I suppose.

Trying to find some info on the after party-obviously it will be different with the race lineup changes. Is it worth spending the $79 for family entry based on prior years? What attractions are open? If this has been covered already, could someone kindly point me that direction?

Not sure on rides, but I think people said Test Track & Soarin were open in the past. I would hope Frozen will be too. It says character meets too so hope they are good ones.

SO, now we are officially NEXT UP!

From last year - I remember that Soarin', Test Track, Mission: Space and Spaceship Earth were open. I know Mexico was closed. I would imagine Frozen *might* be open since it has an external entrance (unlike Mexico that enters through the Temple).
