Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

No runs until at least Wednesday I imagine. Waiting for the dr to open. Always fun to wake up in the middle of the night with vertigo because my inner ear issue decided to come back. Thankfully dramamine helps me walk straight until it's all sorted :)
Oh man I totally know the inner issue vertigo thing..room spinning...can't stand up...the worst feeling. I put alcohol in my ears at least once a day now, & take an antihistamine every night, it seems to really be helping keep them dried out and knock on wood I haven't had an episode since last November I think. Hope you feel better fast and get it sorted out.

I wish mine was that easy to keep away, or that there was even a way to keep it away. I had the same problem for the first time June 2014, the crystals in my ear got loose and float around messing everything up. There's a maneuver you do to get them to go back in place. I've done it at home before with help when it happened the 2nd time when I face planted in the parking lot (hitting your head can cause it) but went to the dr this time to make sure that's what it was because I don't remember hitting my head lately :) I should hopefully be back running Wednesday, but for sure for my long run Sat.

Waiting out the rain here, and hoping it drops the temp/heat index from 90/90+ to something more reasonable. Was thinking of hills around the house after dinner. DW and I use a local HS track, and I change direction after each mile. A good run to plug into a podcast. We have a Rail Trail here, where we can log long runs with only a few places where it crosses roads. Must watch out for "evidence" of horses, though.

It's a very unique and different looking medal. I really like the ribbon! Do we think they will release the Challenge medal too?

I'm surprised they released this one so early. They released the Disneyland Half medal yesterday and I sort of assumed they'd release the rest of the medals for that weekend as this week went on...so who knows!

I think they released the disneyland one yesterday to try and sell some more bibs. I noticed several TA's had them on sale yesterday at a discount. Not gonna lie... it almost talked me into it. The flight home hit the brakes on that impulse.

I was surprised to see it today too! They said last week a week of medals so I'm wondering if they have more surprises up their sleeves!

Yeah, when they said they were doing medal releases I definitely expected the Disneyland ones - they need to sell those bibs. But they didn't have any trouble selling the Wine & Dine bibs. Interesting. :scratchin

As a runDisney newbie....I have a really bizarre question to ask...

Since you have to wake up so early to catch the bus in the morning (3 AMish) does anyone not go to bed the night before a race and just stay up?

I know this year the race falls on Day Light Savings Time, but the Magic Kingdom has EMH on the 5th from 10 PM - 12 AM, and I was not sure if it is worth going to the park that night and just waiting it out.

As I type this, it sounds like a terrible idea, but I wanted to see if any actually does this or not.

I am, sure it would be a terrible idea for me!! LOL! I can barely stay up past 10pm on a good night. I will be getting as much sleep as is reasonable. However, I'm sure there are some Night Owls out there who would jump at the opportunity to pull an all-nighter.

Saw the medal on Instagram and got very excited and it also got very real.

Especially this week, as the Sun has finally found it way to the UK and it has been super hot :sunny: 90+ so a bit to hot for me to run in! So now I'm praying it cools down or I'll get up super early over the weekend to fit a few runs in.

Although this is the UK so I think I'll be back to running in the rain next week lol :P

Has anyone yet seen if they have updated or posted any of the training pics & jpegs (like for Facebook) for W&D yet? Was hoping to see the new ones here soon but Run Disney's Facebook page looks like it's still from 2015. I think the Disney blog usually posts about it too, right?

Not me - I neeeeed my pre-race rest! I'm in bed by 6-7pm for morning races at WDW.
