I looked back a few pages and I couldn't find posts about Guitar Hero being on sale at Toys R Us. It is on sale for 69.99, that seems to be a pretty good price. It is in stock online and it looks like shipping is around $8. Hopefully, this isn't a repeat.

Well I have a Wii.

I have never even looked for one I must say, but I went to walmart after I got out of work a little after 5 and they had some sitting in their case.

I didn't believe it and the girl didn't even know they were there. Once she confirmed the were real Wiis I went ahead a bought one.
Crazy I know, but I wasn't silly enough to pass it up.

I have to to my DH who's birthday was yesterday.

We are having fun so far and I consider myself lucky.

You'll want a second USB mic if you don't already own one. The package only comes with one, and if you want to do battle mode or duet mode, you'll need the second one. I should have just caved and bought the second mic.

If you have the Xbox, buy that version- there aren't many songs to unlock on the Wii version- most of the "unlockable" content is stuff like videos and outfits.

It's definitely worth it though.

Great post! Thanks for sharing! ITA with everything you said. I was bummed that we can't use the headset mic for two player. Our friends have Rock Band so we just borrowed their mic.

I finally did it! I saved Princess Peach I only have 65 stars so I want to try and get all 120 now.

IS the wii getting a upgrade to be able to play blu ray discs????? Some guy told me that when i was in line and i figure if its true I'll try to get that version and sell the "old" one.

First of all congrats, second of all NO, there is no serious talk I've seen of adding a blu-ray player at this point. It just doesn't make any sense at all. The PS3 has a Blu-ray player 1. because it is made by Sony (the ONLY company that produces Blu-ray) and 2. because the GAMES are made on Blu-ray disks (Wii games are just standard DVDs).

So it makes no sense at all that Nintendo would help its competitor.

lol Glad you like it. You should try Karaoke Revolution if you enjoy singing. It has a lot more songs than HSM.

HayGan!!! I just saved Princess Peach on Sunday night!!! Considering I'm really old, have bad reflexes and crappy depth perception, I consider this quite a life accomplishment!

I love that Super Mario Galaxy gives you some options about which levels you do when, so if you really can't quite get one of them done, you're not stuck in that level forever, you can move on to something else. I've done some levels my kids couldn't, and vice versa, but we're each still playing. Now, on to the remaining stars...

I saw that TRU had Guitar Hero on sale and I debated about buying it since I don't need it for my sons bday for almost 3 months. While out yesterday I was driving past the store and stopped in to see if they had any in stock and they did. Now came decision time, do I go ahead and get it and hope nothing is wrong with it or wait and buy it later. I decided to purchase it and was going to give him an early present.

Then the clerk asked if I wanted to purchase an extended warranty and I usually always answer no to this, but since we've had a few games get so scratched they no longer play and this had a plastic guitar to go along with it... I thought it may be worth it. Then he said if he dropped the guitar and it stopped playing or something it would be covered for an addl 15 months. So I went ahead and purchased it and now since it's under extended warranty, I can wait and give it to him on his bday with no worries. And the cost was still less than the regular retail price.

Supposedly you have to strum the guitar while you hit the frets, not just hit the buttons. Did you try that?

We finally got it It was VERY hard to enter..took two people with the guitar laying on the ground while we both pushed & strummed. DS11 is very happy now.

That makes me feel better, I had not heard about that. I guess our warranty will be more like 12-13 months but that should be fine as if something is going to happen it'll more than likely be the first few months or within the first year. I need to go online and register the warranty though. I can't remember how long I have to do that, maybe like 30 days.

So this GH comes with one guitar, is this only a one player game? I've seen off brand guitars available for Xbox and PS but never for Wii, is it that it's still new and not yet avail?

Nope, it's two player. You can get a second guitar from Red Octane--or at least you will be able to soon. I can't remember the date they said individual guitars would be released but I think it was early Feb.

And back to the 2 new GH games between April and September, remember we know at least one of them--the Areosmith version.

I think it will have just about every big hit. It's going to need to in order to have enough songs.

Mario Kart WII set from spring!
-OK color me doubtful that this will actually be a spring release(seems to close to smash bros to me)...But it's set as "spring" in the us...and actually has and April European Launch listed.

I just got my Wii Jan. 31 from Amazon, thanks to Wii Alerts. I have really enjoyed it and this thread is full of so much GREAT information. Of course, I haven't had time to read the WHOLE thing.
